Summary: The Commercial Door & Hardware Estimator will be tasked with developing, servicing, & maintaining customers who purchase commercial wholesale architectural hardware & hollow metal doors, frames, & components. This job occurs within an office setting. Our employees generally cannot work from home, so we seek someone who is willing to be onsite & lead by example.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities includes the following:   

  • Evaluate architectural specifications & perform job take off.
  • Turn around quotes in 2 hours or less on small to medium sized requests.
  • Supply detailed submittals & value engineered options or substitutions.
  • Create & manage job log and schedule. Project management of sold jobs.
  • Manage quote log & set follow up dates for submitted proposals.
  • Stage & detail hardware following its arrival & prior to shipping.
  • Use industry knowledge to further the goals of customer service & assist tech support.
  • Incorporate company values during internal & external interactions.
  • Ability to make outbound telephone calls to prospective clients, introducing Door Controls USA & our services.
  • Sell hardware through in-bound & out-bound calls to existing clients, seek new clients through cold-calling & pipeline initiatives.
  • Educate clients on our various product lines using various technology such as email, Microsoft Teams, & Dynamics CRM 365.
  • Determine customer needs to seek & find solutions to completion barriers no matter the complexity.
  • Maintain quote & client data in CRM 365, within the required time, conducting routine maintenance to ensure accuracy & reliability.
  • Create a customer-centric atmosphere by being available, reliable, economical, & innovative.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:  

  • Two years or more experience in hollow metal & door hardware industry.
  • Inside sales experience, experience in commercial hardware sales preferred.
  • Proficient in industry software and ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Leader mentality with the ability to build bridges across departments & resolve conflict.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Strong people & relationship management skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize & organize effectively, strong time management skills.
  • Self-motivated & goal oriented.
  • Knowledge of architectural hardware, highly preferred.
  • Expert communication skills.
