Job Summary:
DCU’s Human Resources Manager serves as a liaison between employees and executive leadership, ensuring clear communication and a supportive environment. The HR Manager oversees recruiting, hiring, retention, HRIS/Payroll, and Health and Wellness, while maintaining full compliance with all state, federal, and local employment and labor laws. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing edits to company policies and the employee handbook to ensure compliance with DOL, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, and OSHA.
- Provide company executives with timely and relevant updates on federal and state employment regulations.
- Maintain active relationships with insurance brokers to ensure employees receive accurate and timely updates on health and supplemental benefits.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process in coordination with the insurance broker, ensuring seamless communication and enrollment support.
- Assist employees with claims for health and supplemental insurance, resolving issues and liaising with brokers when necessary.
- Conduct annual audits of the company’s 401(k) plan in accordance with third-party auditor requirements, ensuring compliance and transparency.
- Administer and advise on progressive disciplinary actions, including performance improvement plans, in collaboration with department leadership.
- Conduct impartial investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and compliant resolution aligned with company policy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the implementation of new HR systems, benefits programs, or policy rollouts, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder alignment throughout each phase.
- Conduct competitive market research to support compensation strategies that attract and retain top-performing talent.
- Review and verify the issuance of paper checks through the company’s bank, ensuring accuracy and fraud prevention.
- Perform regular audits of personnel and payroll files to ensure compliance with internal policies and external audit standards.
Demonstrated Experience in:
- Employee relations and conflict resolution
- Benefits and compensation administration
- Policy development and compliance (e.g., OSHA, FMLA, EEOC)
- Talent acquisition and retention strategies
- Performance management systems
- HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Rippling)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional) or PHR or SPHR (Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources – offered by HRCI) desired
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in HR, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
