What is the purpose of this role?
The purpose of this role is to build and lead DOOR’s partnerships and business development strategy as a core growth engine for the company. This leader will define how DOOR expands into new markets, verticals, and ecosystems through strategic partnerships—while maximizing the revenue and long-term value of the DOOR + HelloTech platform. The role sits at the intersection of product, revenue, and strategy, with direct impact on company growth, market expansion, and executive decision-making.
What is the role?
This role is a senior executive leadership position responsible for defining, building, and scaling DOOR’s Partnerships & Business Development function from the ground up. Reporting closely to the Head of Revenue and partnering with the executive team, this leader will architect multi-year partnership strategies, design partnership models, and build a high-performing team and operating framework.
The role owns end-to-end partnership strategy and execution—including identifying new verticals, structuring strategic alliances, channel and reseller programs, platform integrations, and services partnerships. It requires deep cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Operations, as well as ownership of partnership economics, forecasting, and performance. This leader will balance long-term strategic bets with near-term revenue impact while serving as a trusted executive thought partner to senior leadership.

What will you do?
1. Define & Lead Partnership Strategy (DOOR + HelloTech)
- Conduct a deep analysis of DOOR’s current business model, products (hardware, software and services), customer base, and go-to-market motion.
- Partner closely with the Head of Revenue, and executive team to define a multi-year partnerships and business development strategy aligned to company growth objectives.
- Identify, prioritize, and validate new verticals and segments (e.g., adjacent real estate sectors, enterprise, proptech, hospitality, BTR, builders, utilities, OEMs, broadband, security, energy, etc.).
- Design partnership models that span:
- Channel & reseller partnerships
- Strategic alliances
- Platform / ecosystem integrations
- Installation & services partnerships
- Data, software, and hardware partnerships
2. Build the Partnerships Function from the Ground Up
- Architect the partnerships org structure, operating model, KPIs, and tooling.
- Develop and lead a high-impact Partnerships & Business Development team.
- Establish repeatable processes for partner sourcing, evaluation, deal structuring, onboarding, enablement, and ongoing management.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Operations to operationalize partnerships at scale.
3. Optimize & Grow HelloTech Partnerships Revenue
- Assess HelloTech’s existing partnerships strategy, performance, and economics.
- Optimize current partnerships to drive incremental revenue, margin, and customer acquisition efficiency.
4. Be a Senior Executive Partner to the Business
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Head of Revenue and executive team.
- Present partnership strategies, progress, and performance to senior leadership.
- Own partnership P&L inputs, revenue forecasts, and business cases.
- Balance long-term strategic bets with near-term revenue impact.
What do you bring to DOOR?
- 10–15+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, strategy, or GTM leadership roles.
- Experience operating at a VP or equivalent level in a B2B or D2C technology company.
- A track record of building partnerships functions from scratch or significantly scaling them.
- Strong experience working with hardware + software businesses, platforms, or ecosystems (IoT, smart home, proptech, security, SaaS, infrastructure, or adjacent industries).
- Comfort operating across multiple business models (enterprise B2B, D2C, services, channel).
- Proven ability to turn ambiguous opportunity spaces into structured, executable plans.
- Exceptional executive presence and communication skills—you can influence the C-suite and the board.
- A hands-on mindset: you can design strategy and negotiate deals yourself.
- Experience expanding a company into new verticals or markets via partnerships.
