Forward Deployed Engineer - Finance

About Drivepoint

Drivepoint is building the AI-native financial operating system for consumer and retail brands.

Most finance teams still run on fragile spreadsheets, disconnected data, and static reports. We replace that with an AI-powered system that unifies modeling, forecasting, reporting, and scenario planning.

Leading consumer brand founders, CFOs, and finance teams use Drivepoint to analyze business performance, model future scenarios, and make critical decisions. With strong product-market fit, inbound momentum, and fresh Series A funding ($7M, July 2025), we’re scaling rapidly toward our mission of powering 25% of global retail GMV by 2030.

AI alone doesn’t create leverage.

This role exists to embed with customers, design their financial system inside Drivepoint, and turn insight into action fast.

Team: Customer
Reports To: VP Customer Success
Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000 base + performance bonus + equity

The Role

We’re hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer - Finance to work directly with high-growth consumer brands and architect their financial operating systems inside Drivepoint.

This is a hybrid role combining advanced financial modeling, applied AI deployment, and customer-facing strategic execution. You will embed with customers, translate messy real-world data into scalable financial architecture, and deliver measurable business impact.

This is not just advisory.
This is applied leverage that creates real value for real companies.

What You’ll Do

Architect the Financial Operating System

  • Translate channel data (Shopify, Amazon, wholesale, retail, inventory, marketing) into a clean Drivepoint architecture
  • Build scalable 3-statement models, cohort models, unit economics frameworks, and scenario planning systems
  • Design board-ready reporting and forecasting workflows

Deploy Applied AI in Production

  • Configure AI-driven forecasting and scenario workflows
  • Structure prompts and automation flows that reduce manual FP&A work
  • Increase rigor while decreasing manual effort

Drive Strategic Outcomes

  • Identify leverage opportunities (CAC payback, contribution margin expansion, working capital optimization, channel mix shifts)
  • Pressure-test assumptions with sensitivity analysis
  • Present insight → implication → quantified financial impact

Operate as a Trusted Partner

  • Lead structured working sessions with CFOs and founders
  • Align finance, operations, and growth teams
  • Own time-to-value and measurable outcomes for customers

Teach, Coach, and Empower

  • Build AI-forward operators inside our customers’ teams
  • Create routines and systems to ensure success after you fade away
  • Communicate expectations for success to end users and C-Suite

This role is designed for people who want to accelerate their careers by operating at the intersection of finance, product, and AI. You’ll see inside hundreds of high-growth consumer brands, build real AI-powered financial systems used in production, and develop the judgment and perspective typically gained much later in finance careers.
