About the role
The role is primarily focused on the maintenance and support of DroneShield engineering efforts. You will coordinate with various engineering teams to test and validate hardware and software solutions in the office and various locations around NSW. You will be responsible for all associated processes and support systems to improve the cadence of testing at DroneShield.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
· Maintain the DroneShield field testing facility and equipment
· Coordinate with various Engineering teams to schedule, provision and execute field testing activities
· Coordinate the DroneShield drone inventory, including tagging, maintaining, and preparing drone airframes at testing facility and Sydney CBD office
· Support Business Development & Field Service Engineering teams with demonstrations and testing events
· Travel regularly outside of your homebase to complete data capture exercises
· Contribute to the DroneShield drone intelligence database, regularly completing market scans for new drones and new drone-related information
· High work ethic and the desire to take ownership over tasks/problems that may fall outside of your immediate job description/team
· Perform all RePL duties and responsibilities related, but not limited to; flight planning, drone operations, and record keeping requirements under ReOC
· Survey new locations for potential test sites that meet Engineering requirements
· Be willing to undergo any additional qualifications and retraining as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
· The following commercial drone pilot qualifications and experience:
o RePL - Remote pilot licence
o AROC - Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate
· Experienced with Linux Operating systems is ideal. Comfortable working with the Terminal, Text Manipulation Tools, Process Monitoring and Networking
· BS degree in Engineering (various), or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience, is an advantage.
· Candidate should be willing to be in the Sydney office for 1-2 day(s), and to travel around NSW for data captures and tests.
