QA Technician

About the role

The position will report primarily to the Operations Manager and will be working very closely with the Operations, Sales and Technical teams in the US, while also connecting with colleagues headquartered in AU. This position is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a desire to develop their career in a fast-growing ASX defense technology company.


Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations 

  • Conduct Incoming Quality Checks as per the IQC Criteria set up by DroneShield.
  • Review of Supplier Quality reports.
  • Record the IQC results in ERP(Odoo) corresponding to each quality check points.
  • Prepare IQC report after inspection.
  • Move failed parts to Quarantine area physically and in Odoo.
  • Raise Quality Alerts/NCRs for the failed parts.
  • Conduct Outgoing Quality checks on DroneShield products.
  • Report issues identified at incoming and outgoing QC to Quality & Safety Manager/QA Officer.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and consistency

Qualifications, Experience and Skills 

  • US Citizen
  • Experience with inspection equipment/CMM required.
  • Experience with Odoo or similar ERP system preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with RF equipment and electronics preferred but not necessary
  • Passionate about technology and ability to understand complex technical problems, so issues can be properly communicated to stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and move 40lbs
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Respect and appreciation of process, doing the right thing even if no-one is watching
  • Strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle pressure
  • “Can do” attitude and willingness to help with a variety of tasks, including occasional tasks unrelated to the core role
