The Early Careers Program is a 13-week summer program designed to provide real-world work experience to students currently pursuing a degree in a related field to FlexGen. This program will give students interested in a career in renewable energy and battery storage space hands-on exposure to FlexGen projects and mentorship from industry professionals.  Upon completion of the program, students will have gained the knowledge, tools, and resources to be successful upon entering the professional world.

Position Description:

FlexGen is seeking a Software Integration Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025 as part of our Early Careers Program. As a Software Integration Intern, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and deploy software tools that enhance the performance and efficiency of energy storage projects. You will contribute to real-world projects that drive the energy transition and play an integral role in advancing renewable energy solutions. 


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the integration of software applications with energy storage systems and renewable energy sources. 
  • Support the testing and validation of software functionalities to ensure quality and performance standards are met. 
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to gather requirements and provide technical support. 
  • Document integration processes, workflows, and technical specifications. 
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving software-related issues during the integration phase. 
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in software integration for energy applications. 
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions, providing insights and feedback on ongoing projects. 

Position Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. 
  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and integration processes. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Eagerness to learn about renewable energy and battery storage technologies
