About the Role
The Plaza Maintenance & Grounds Attendant is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of public plazas, sidewalks, walkways, stairways, common areas, and outdoor guest spaces throughout Snowmass Base Village. This position supports daily operations through cleaning, grounds maintenance, snow removal, light maintenance tasks, and guest assistance while ensuring resort standards are consistently met.

- Pay Rate: $25 to 28/Hourly
- Schedule: Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and snow events as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plaza and Common Area Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of public plazas, walkways, stairways, entryways, and pedestrian areas.
- Remove litter, debris, leaves, and other materials from public spaces.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and ensure stations remain clean and well maintained.
- Clean benches, outdoor furniture, railings, signs, and guest amenities.
- Power wash and deep clean outdoor areas as scheduled.
- Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas and proactively address cleanliness concerns.
Grounds and Landscape Support
- Assist with landscaping tasks including watering, planting, weeding, pruning, and maintaining flower beds and planters.
- Support seasonal beautification projects and special events.
- Assist with the setup and removal of seasonal decorations, furnishings, and outdoor equipment.
- Monitor irrigation systems and report deficiencies.
Snow and Ice Removal
- Perform snow removal from sidewalks, walkways, plazas, stairways, parking access points, and emergency exits.
- Apply ice melt and other approved materials to maintain safe walking surfaces.
- Participate in snow response operations during winter weather events.
- Maintain snow removal equipment and report repair needs.
Light Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks throughout public areas.
- Replace light bulbs and report lighting outages.
- Identify and report building, landscape, and infrastructure deficiencies.
- Assist Engineering with routine maintenance projects as assigned.
- Complete work orders and inspections accurately and efficiently.
Safety and Guest Service
- Maintain public areas in a safe and hazard-free condition.
- Promptly identify and address safety concerns.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to guests, homeowners, residents, and visitors.
- Respond appropriately to guest questions and direct concerns to the appropriate department.
- Serve as a visible ambassador of Snowmass Mountain Lodging and East West Hospitality.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power equipment, and snow removal equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, facilities maintenance, custodial services, landscaping, snow removal, or resort operations.
- Experience operating power washers, utility vehicles, snow blowers, or similar equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and snowy conditions.
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment necessary to perform job duties.
