About the role

We are seeking an experienced Okta Subject Matter Expert (SME) to partner closely with internal teams and clients to design, build, and implement advanced Okta solutions. This role will take ownership of proof-of-concepts (POCs), custom connectors, and unique feature implementations beyond out-of-the-box Okta capabilities. You will consult on architectural options, deliver high-quality documentation, and help define best practices across environments.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the primary Okta SME, providing expert guidance on complex technical requirements, integrations, and design patterns.
  • Lead and execute Proofs of Concept (POCs) to validate integration approaches, custom features, and advanced use cases.
  • Build and deploy custom connectors, workflows, and extensions to support application integrations that exceed standard configurations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (architects, developers, security teams) to refine requirements and deliver scalable identity solutions.
  • Provide technical consulting support on Okta implementation decisions and identity design patterns.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive documentation, including design guides, runbooks, technical specs, and operational procedures.
  • Understand business processes which depend upon legacy integration systems and translate legacy configurations to Okta to satisfy business needs.
  • Analyze and communicate differences in feature sets and behaviors between legacy integrations systems and Okta, including objective analysis of functional gaps, impact to business processes and recommendations considering both benefits and drawbacks of the Okta platform in the context of client environment.
  • Leverage common productivity tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio to prepare briefings and draft technical documentation which aligns with Easy Dynamics documentation standards.
  • Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of advanced Okta issues.
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to client teams, including best practices for identity policies, MFA, certification campaigns, and connector maintenance.
  • Participate in solution reviews, architecture discussions, and IAM governance meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Okta Identity solutions.
  • Experience with Okta integrations (SSO/SAML/OIDC/SCIM), lifecycle management, and advanced configuration.
  • Demonstrated ability to create custom connectors, APIs, and workflows to meet complex business needs.
  • Comfortable leading POCs, technical design sessions, and solution demos.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear, accurate technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud technologies or working exposure to Azure identity services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative technical team.

Salary Range: $170,000-190,000 based on experience and qualifications
