About Fuku
First crafted as an off-menu item by chefs at David Chang’s NYC Momofuku Noodle Bar, our original sando was too good to be kept behind the counter. And then it was too big for the restaurant. So it got its own East Village joint in 2015. And it’s been Fukusanity ever since
About the role
As the People & Culture Generalist at Fuku, you’ll be at the center of everything that makes our team run smoothly. This role is equal parts builder, problem-solver, and partner; supporting day-to-day needs while helping lay the foundation for scalable, people-first operations.
You’ll contribute across hiring, onboarding, offboarding, HRIS management, payroll, compliance, and employee experience initiatives, ensuring our processes are not only efficient but also rooted in Fuku’s values. Reporting directly to and working hand-in-hand with the VP, People, you’ll operate as a true partner, dividing and conquering priorities, learning from one another, and growing the People function together.
This role is designed for someone who wants both ownership and collaboration. You’ll take the lead in key operational areas like payroll and HRIS, while also partnering closely on employee relations, engagement initiatives, performance cycles, and manager support. Together, we show up as strong, aligned partners to the business, focused on equipping our leaders to create a supportive, high-performing work environment across all restaurant units and HQ functions.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining and evolving the systems that support our team, including hiring, onboarding, compliance, and data integrity. As we scale, you won’t just execute processes, you’ll help improve them. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in execution, values collaboration, and wants to grow their experience in a supportive, hospitality-driven environment where their voice and ideas matter.
Preference will be given to candidates located in the United States within the Central (CDT) or Eastern (EST) time zones to support effective team collaboration.
