Position Location: Duluth, GA

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Design Services team in our Duluth ECC office. This role will lead the design and review of electrical systems for large-scale industrial facilities, ensuring projects meet technical standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.


The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in industrial electrical design and a strong understanding of building systems, construction documentation, and project coordination. This individual will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality electrical designs while supporting project planning efforts such as cost estimation, scheduling coordination, and technical review during construction. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects while mentoring junior engineers and helping drive engineering excellence across the team.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design and review of electrical systems for industrial buildings, including power distribution, lighting, and related infrastructure
  • Develop and review construction documents, including electrical drawings, specifications, and design calculations
  • Utilize design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms to produce coordinated engineering designs
  • Perform technical evaluations and design calculations to ensure system performance, safety, and code compliance
  • Conduct site observations and field assessments to verify installation progress and resolve design or construction issues
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and contractor documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications
  • Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and providing technical guidance during construction
  • Assist with project controls coordination, including cost estimation, scheduling input, and design deliverable planning
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved efficiently
  • Mentor junior engineers and support internal design quality standards

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with an active NCEES record preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial or large commercial building projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, and building electrical infrastructure
  • Proficiency with industry design tools including Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms
  • Demonstrated experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations
  • Experience supporting construction administration, including site visits, shop drawing review, and technical coordination with contractors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex design challenges
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple project priorities while maintaining high-quality engineering standards
