The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading and directing all activities related to North American tax filings, tax accounting, compliance, and planning.

What You Will Do:

  • Tax Accounting and Reporting
    • Manage the preparation of the income tax provision for North America in accordance with IFRS and statutory rules as applicable
    • Prepare and review journal entries as applicable during the monthly, quarterly and annual close process
    • Participate in the interim and annual external financial statement process by drafting and reviewing applicable footnotes in accordance with all appropriate IFRS
    • Assist in the development and execution of appropriate internal controls over accounting for income taxes
    • Liaise with external auditors and manage the income tax portion of the annual audit and quarterly review process
  • Income Tax Compliance
    • Manage all aspects of domestic and international income tax compliance ensuring timely completion and submission of all monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc filings
    • Lead the preparation and review of tax returns (GST, PST, QST, State, etc.), tax audits, and tax payments
    • Lead the development and execution of E INC’s global transfer pricing strategy including working with external advisors to prepare transfer pricing documentation
  • Income Tax Planning
    • Research and advise business partners and senior leadership on the impact of changes to current tax legislation in Canada and the US
    • Participate in the annual budget cycle and subsequent re-forecasting efforts advising on tax matters
    • Coordinate with and manage third party tax advisors
  • Payroll Tax Administration
    • Advise and assist payroll on the appropriate rates to use for EI, CPP, QPP, HSF, EHT etc.
    • Coordinate issuance and establish policies around annual tax forms such as 1099s, T4As, T2200s, etc
    • Research and advise on tax treatment of share-based compensation and auto (& other) taxable benefits
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • A bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of progressive tax experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of Canadian and US tax compliance matters, and IAS 12
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing tax concepts and tax efficiencies of cross-border flows
  • Languages: English (required), French (an asset)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proactive problem-solver with a team-oriented mindset

At E INC, in the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share our base pay as it is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this full-time position is $100,000.00 - $110,000.00, and this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
