Position Overview: The Direct Sales Lead is responsible for driving new business growth through inbound sales efforts, managing a team of inside sales representatives, and supporting agency-wide sales initiatives. This role is pivotal in converting leads into customers, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer experience. The Inside Sales Lead will work closely with marketing, service, and field sales teams to align strategies and maximize performance across all locations.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead and coach a team of inside sales representatives to meet and exceed individual and team sales goals.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to convert inbound leads and generate outbound opportunities.
  • Qualify prospects, assess insurance needs, and present tailored solutions across personal and commercial lines.
  • Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation campaigns and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Monitor and report on sales metrics, pipeline activity, and conversion rates to leadership.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of agency products, carrier offerings, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with agency procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cross-selling initiatives and coordinate with Advisors and Account Managers to deepen client relationships.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new inside sales team members.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to improve sales processes and customer experience.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries and ensure resolution in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with external carrier representatives to stay informed on product updates and promotional opportunities.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop sales talent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales enablement tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance products and sales techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
 

College degree or equivalent is desired.  Must be organized with demonstrated skills for effective communication both verbal and written with the ability to influence others.  Should be familiar with all operations with a thorough understanding of the agency system.  Should have at least five years of experience in personal lines and/or commercial lines underwriting and marketing with a multi-line insurance agency or brokerage operation.
