Akrapoint is hiring for Credit Analyst positions of all levels.

CREDIT ANALYST I

Department: Credit
Classification: Credit Professional – Entry Level
Reports To: Portfolio Manager or other designated Credit leader
Base Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000
Annual Discretionary Bonus Opportunity: 10% of base salary
Typical Delegated Credit Authority: $0–$250,000, based on demonstrated capability and formal delegation

Position Summary

The Credit Analyst I is an entry-level credit professional responsible for supporting the evaluation of commercial credit requests within the Company's equipment finance business. The position develops core underwriting skills through direct involvement in credit analysis, financial statement review, transaction assessment, credit documentation, and portfolio monitoring.

The Credit Analyst I is expected to develop the ability to identify key credit risks, form an independent view of creditworthiness, and make well-supported recommendations to more senior credit personnel. As proficiency and judgment are demonstrated, the employee may receive limited independent credit approval authority.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review commercial credit applications, credit reports, financial statements, tax returns, bank information, public records, and other relevant underwriting materials.
  • Spread and analyze business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
  • Evaluate historical financial performance, cash flow, leverage, liquidity, debt service capacity, net worth, and other relevant financial metrics.
  • Review borrower, guarantor, affiliate, ownership, and management information to understand the overall credit profile.
  • Evaluate equipment, collateral, transaction structure, advance requirements, repayment sources, and other deal-specific considerations.
  • Perform company and industry research and identify material risks affecting repayment capacity or collateral support.
  • Prepare clear and accurate credit summaries, approval memoranda, and supporting underwriting documentation.
  • Develop and communicate recommendations to approve, decline, modify, or further investigate credit requests.
  • Make credit decisions within specifically assigned authority, if and when such authority is granted.
  • Identify missing information, inconsistencies, policy exceptions, or elevated risks and escalate them appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Operations, Asset Management, and other departments to obtain information and efficiently move transactions through the credit process.
  • Assist with monitoring existing customers, including updated financial analysis, annual or periodic reviews, delinquency review, risk-rating updates, and early-warning identification.
  • Maintain complete and accurate credit files and follow Company credit policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
  • Participate in training, special projects, portfolio reviews, and other departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other credit and risk-related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Choice of work from home or in-office, generally following 8am – 5pm M-F schedule.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and accurate service to sales reps and/or customers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field.
  • 0–2 years of applicable credit, financial analysis, commercial lending, equipment finance, banking, accounting, or related experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting and financial statement analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to develop independent credit judgment.



CREDIT ANALYST II

Department: Credit
Classification: Credit Professional – Intermediate
Reports To: Portfolio Manager or other designated Credit leader
Base Salary Range: $75,000–$85,000
Annual Discretionary Bonus Opportunity: 10% of base salary
Typical Delegated Credit Authority: $250,000–$500,000, subject to formal delegation

Position Summary

The Credit Analyst II is responsible for independently evaluating commercial credit requests and supporting sound credit decisions within the Company's equipment finance business.

This position performs the full underwriting process from initial application through recommendation or decision and is expected to manage a greater transaction volume with less supervision than an entry-level analyst. The Credit Analyst II also serves as a resource to Credit Analyst I employees and contributes to special projects and departmental initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Independently review and analyze commercial credit applications, credit reports, financial statements, tax returns, bank information, ownership information, public records, and other underwriting materials.
  • Perform detailed analysis of cash flow, leverage, liquidity, debt service capacity, trends, contingent liabilities, guarantor support, and repayment sources.
  • Evaluate transaction structure, collateral, equipment characteristics, advance levels, terms, guaranties, and other risk mitigants.
  • Research borrowers, industries, markets, and economic factors relevant to credit decisions.
  • Identify material strengths, weaknesses, risks, and mitigating factors and develop a clear overall assessment of creditworthiness.
  • Prepare well-supported credit approval memoranda and recommendations for new transactions, modifications, increases, renewals, or other credit actions.
  • Approve, decline, or condition credit requests within assigned authority.
  • Escalate requests exceeding authority or involving elevated complexity, policy exceptions, unusual structures, or material risk.
  • Independently manage transaction workflow and communicate effectively with Sales, Operations, and other business partners.
  • Maintain appropriate productivity while preserving underwriting quality and attention to detail.
  • Assist Credit Analyst I employees with financial analysis, underwriting questions, policy interpretation, systems, and credit documentation.
  • Provide informal review and feedback on junior analyst work when requested.
  • Participate in customer calls or meetings when appropriate.
  • Perform ongoing portfolio monitoring, including updated financial analysis, risk-rating changes, delinquency review, covenant or policy compliance, and early-warning identification.
  • Participate in special projects involving credit processes, analytics, reporting, underwriting tools, policies, or other departmental priorities.
  • Perform other credit and risk-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field.
  • Approximately 1–4 years of applicable credit, financial analysis, commercial lending, equipment finance, banking, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial statement and cash-flow analysis.
  • Strong written credit analysis and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently identify material credit risks and recommend appropriate mitigants and transaction structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities effectively.



CREDIT ANALYST III

Classification: Senior Credit Analyst
Reports To: Portfolio Manager, or other designated Credit leader
Base Salary Range: $85,000–$95,000
Annual Discretionary Bonus Opportunity: 10% of base salary
Typical Delegated Credit Authority: $500,000–$750,000, subject to formal delegation

Position Summary

The Credit Analyst III is a senior-level analyst responsible for independently underwriting and decisioning increasingly complex commercial equipment finance transactions.

The position is expected to demonstrate mature credit judgment, strong technical financial skills, and the ability to evaluate full-underwrite transactions involving more substantial exposure, complex financial information, financial modeling tasks, or other risk considerations.

The Credit Analyst III also serves as a leader and technical resource within the analyst group and plays an active role in training and developing junior credit personnel.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Independently underwrite commercial credit transactions ranging from straightforward application-based requests to complex full-financial underwrites.
  • Perform advanced analysis of financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, leverage, liquidity, working capital, debt service, financial projections, guarantor strength, and global repayment capacity.
  • Evaluate complex ownership structures, affiliates, related entities, customer concentrations, contingent liabilities, management quality, and other qualitative risk factors.
  • Analyze equipment and collateral support, transaction economics, advance levels, structures, terms, and appropriate risk mitigants.
  • Conduct detailed industry and economic research when relevant to transaction risk.
  • Prepare and present concise, well-supported credit recommendations for significant or complex transactions.
  • Approve, decline, or condition requests within assigned credit authority.
  • Recommend appropriate transaction structures and risk mitigants on transactions exceeding individual authority.
  • Identify policy exceptions and distinguish acceptable exceptions from risks requiring escalation or decline.
  • Serve as a technical resource and sounding board for Credit Analyst I and II employees.
  • Review junior analyst work and provide constructive feedback regarding analysis, documentation, policy application, and credit judgment.
  • Assist with formal and informal analyst training.
  • Support consistent underwriting practices and credit quality across the department.
  • Participate in customer calls, management discussions, and site visits when appropriate.
  • Monitor assigned customers and portfolio segments for changes in financial condition, industry risk, delinquency, concentration, or other early-warning indicators.
  • Take meaningful ownership of departmental special projects, process improvements, analytics, reporting, or policy-related initiatives.
  • Perform other credit and risk-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field.
  • Approximately 2–6 years of applicable commercial credit, equipment finance, banking, underwriting, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, financial statement analysis, cash-flow analysis, and commercial credit principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently underwrite increasingly complex transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated credit judgment, leadership capability, and ability to coach less experienced analysts.
