We are looking for a Senior FS Software Engineer to help us redefine how the world handles business intelligence.

The Impact You’ll Make

In this role, you will:

Design, build, and maintain BI tool integrations across their full lifecycle, including features, performance, and defect resolution for tools like the Excel plugin, the Google Sheets add-on, and the Looker integration.

Build and maintain converters that translate external semantic model formats into SML (AtScale's Semantic Modeling Language).

Handle the hard cross-protocol problems, including query translation between MDX, DAX, and SQL, while managing authentication and token flows.

Reproduce, triage, and fix customer-reported bugs against real semantic models, turning recurring issues into durable fixes and better tests rather than one-off patches.

Build and expand automated test coverage (integration and end-to-end) so adapter regressions are caught before customers see them.

Track moving targets (Microsoft Office add-in APIs, Google Workspace add-on platform, Looker/LookML changes) and adapt our integrations ahead of breaking changes.

Collaborate with product and support teams to prioritize friction that matters most and communicate clearly with customers when an issue is technical and externally visible.

Who You Are

You are comfortable in fast-paced environments where priorities can shift quickly.

You value quality over speed and are curious about using AI to improve efficiency.

You have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and shipping production software, ideally client integrations, plugins, or SDKs.

You possess deep proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.

You have a working knowledge of SQL, exposure to analytical query languages and semantics (MDX, DAX), and an intuition for how the same question maps differently across tools.

You are comfortable with authentication and session mechanics, such as OAuth, tokens, and the failure modes that show up when they're mishandled.

You have a debugging temperament: you can take a vague customer report and a live model and drive it to a root cause.

You have fluency with modern AI-assisted development tools and good judgment about where they speed you up versus where they need a human in the loop.

You have expertise in testing methods such as unit, integration, and e2e, tools used for each (e.g., Jest), as well as approaches for mocking requests and responses for test automation.

Nice to have: Experience with semantic layers, OLAP, or BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos); familiarity with XMLA/Tabular endpoints; background supporting enterprise B2B customers; and familiarity with containers and infrastructure related to web apps such as Docker.
