Job Description:
As a Sr Full Stack Engineer, you will build end-to-end features across an Angular front end, a .NET Core middle tier and a SQL Server data tier inside a live clinical platform. You will take clinical workflow requirements that are roughly, not fully, defined and turn them into working screens, APIs and data access that hold their performance budget under real load. You will own the features that touch protected health information, which is work that cannot be handed offshore.
You will set drive the technical direction for a small pod, review its pull requests, and pair with the client's engineers so the code you add looks like it belongs in their codebase. Expect to spend part of every week with product and clinical stakeholders resolving the ambiguity in a requirement rather than waiting for someone to resolve it for you.
What qualifications make you an Aubrant Sr Full Stack Engineer?
- Able to drive the technical execution of a small, senior engineering team while still writing a large share of the code yourself.
- Leads the way when requirements and priorities are ambiguous, and drives them to a decision.
- A strong communicator who can explain a technical tradeoff to a clinician and to an architect in the same meeting.
- Treats automated tests, accessibility and instrumentation as part of the definition of done, not as follow-up work.
- Mentors peers and raises the standard of the code around them through review.
- Takes ownership of the outcome, including the parts of the system nobody assigned to them.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Lead a small full stack pod through the full development lifecycle, from specification through production release.
- Provide technical direction, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding, testing and security standards.
- Mentor engineers on the team, including offshore engineers working entirely against synthetic data.
Software Development:
- Build responsive, accessible Angular 15+ interfaces with TypeScript and RxJS, backed by a reusable component library.
- Design and implement .NET 8 REST APIs with claims-based authorization, EF Core and hand-written T-SQL where the query demands it.
- Implement configuration-driven and rules-driven behavior so clinical operations can change pathways, cohorts and campaign flags without a code deployment.
Performance and Quality:
- Meet defined page latency and concurrency budgets, and instrument the code so regressions are visible before a user reports them.
- Write unit, integration and end-to-end tests as a default part of feature work, and keep them running in the pipeline.
- Deliver to WCAG 2.1 Level AA in practice, not just in principle.
Collaboration and Delivery:
- Partner with the Senior Application Architect on system design and technical decisions.
- Work directly with the client's architect, product managers and clinical stakeholders to resolve open requirements.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, database migration gating and release readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- MUST be fluent in written and spoken English at a native or bilingual level; this role is client-facing daily.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including proven experience leading a development team.
- 7+ years building web applications and web APIs on the .NET Framework and .NET Core; expert-level proficiency in C# and ASP.NET Core Web API.
- Advanced SQL Server skills: EF Core plus hand-written T-SQL, index-aware query design and execution plan reading.
- Expert-level proficiency in Angular 15+ with TypeScript and RxJS, including state management, change detection tuning and component library design.
- Strong REST API design skills, including claims-based authorization, versioning and integration with third-party systems.
- Demonstrated experience with rules-driven or configuration-driven feature work, not only CRUD screens.
- Automated unit, integration and end-to-end testing as a standard working practice, with experience keeping suites green in CI.
- Practical WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility implementation experience.
- Working knowledge of distributed caching with Redis and of application performance instrumentation.
- Experience in a healthcare, financial services or other regulated domain is a plus.
- Experience with HL7 FHIR R4 is a plus.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipelines is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex requirements and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Able to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centered solutions.
- Anticipate and adopt innovations in business-related digital and technology applications.
- Operate effectively, even when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear.
