The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, strengthening existing customer relationships and driving sales growth through proactive prospecting and face-to-face engagement. This role requires a strong focus on relationship building, customer consultations, and presenting tailored solutions that meet client needs. The Outside Sales Representative partners with Inside Sales, Project Managers, and the leadership team to ensure a seamless customer experience and achievement of sales goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Prospecting
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects and follow up on leads consistently
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to uncover growth opportunities
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers
- Conduct onsite consultations, surveys, and discovery meetings to understand project requirements
- Educate customers on FASTSIGNS’ in-house manufacturing capabilities and full range of solutions
- Set clear project expectations regarding timelines, deliverables, and costs
Sales Process & Project Collaboration
- Prepare and present accurate quotes, estimates, and proofs to customers
- Collaborate with Project Managers to design solutions that meet customer budgets, needs, and timelines
- Develop and execute proactive sales plans to increase order volume and revenue from key accounts
- Ensure thorough customer/project follow-up to drive satisfaction and repeat business
- Partner with Inside Sales, Project Managers, and the leadership team to ensure a seamless customer experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communicator with excellent phone and written communication skills
- Self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Strong relationship-building and customer service orientation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn CRM/order management software
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in signage, graphics, or related industry
- Proven experience in outside sales or business development, required
- Experience working with CRM software, preferred
- Must have valid driver’s license
