Manager, Business Systems

Who We Are

At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2020, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

We've started with two award-winning products, the Framework Laptop 13 and 16. Our laptops are thin, light, high-performance notebooks that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules.

In 2026, we introduced Framework Laptop 13 Pro, a ground-up redesign built for power users and developers, bringing a massive leap in battery life, a new CNC aluminum chassis, and our first Ubuntu Certified system, all while remaining repairable, upgradeable, and entirely yours.

We've seen a fantastic reception to Framework Laptop 13 Pro, with MKBHD calling it our “best build yet," Linus Tech Tips declaring "The Framework Pro 13 is peak laptop," and Gizmodo naming it "The Best Modular Laptop Ever Made." That builds on years of recognition from outlets like Ars Technica and multiple Wirecutter reviews (including a recommendation among the best Windows Ultrabooks of 2024), along with making TIME's Best Inventions lists in 2021 and 2023. We're incredibly proud to be recognized as #5 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2026, proof of our growth since first appearing on the list at #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.

We come from successful consumer electronics startups including the founding team of Oculus, and have closed multiple rounds of funding to fuel our roadmap. Even better (and maybe unusually for an early stage startup), we're in a financially healthy position going forward off of our product revenue. We care deeply about building a diverse and inclusive team, and we hope you do too!

The Position

We're looking for a Manager, Business Systems to own and evolve the systems that run Framework behind the scenes. You’ll report to the CFO and manage a NetSuite engineer. NetSuite is at the center of this role, along with the integrations that connect it to our store, Framework Marketplace, logistics partners, payment and tax providers, and finance tools. You'll work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other business teams to make sure our core business processes are accurate, scalable, observable, and resilient as Framework grows.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys leading while staying deep in the technical work. You’ll partner with Finance, Operations, and Engineering to keep our core business processes accurate, scalable, and resilient as we grow. You'll also shape how Framework uses AI coding agents to speed up business-systems development without compromising reliability, setting guardrails for code review, sandbox testing, reconciliation, and production releases.

You'll manage and mentor a NetSuite engineer while remaining close to the technical work yourself.

This is a remote position based in the US. If you’re local to the San Francisco area, we spend one day a week together in person at our headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Own NetSuite end to end: configuration, workflows, saved searches, SuiteScript, roles, permissions, and core Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain processes.
  • Build and maintain integrations: connect NetSuite with our e-commerce platform, Marketplace, 3PLs, payment/tax providers, and finance tools using Celigo, APIs, webhooks, and custom ETL.
  • Leverage AI for development: use AI coding agents to build and debug SuiteScript and integrations, while establishing strong standards for code review, sandbox testing, reconciliation, and production releases.
  • Own EDI and partner integrations: onboard trading partners, maintain mappings, and resolve transaction exceptions.
  • Lead the systems roadmap: prioritize requests across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain; evaluate when to buy, configure, integrate, or build.
  • Lead and mentor the team: manage a NetSuite engineer and drive execution across business systems.
  • Own reliability and controls: manage releases and upgrades, monitoring, documentation, access reviews, runbooks, and audit support.

What You Need

  • 7+ years of experience in business systems, enterprise applications, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration and SuiteScript 2.x development.
  • Daily, hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, and strong judgement about how to validate and safely deploy AI-generated code.
  • Experience designing and operating integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, an iPaaS such as Celigo or Boomi, or custom ETL, plus strong SQL skills with transactional business data.
  • Hands-on EDI experience with retail, distribution, logistics, or other trading partners.
  • Strong understanding of business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, revenue, payments, and month-end close.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing at least one engineer, administrator, or technical systems owner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to work effectively with both engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership mindset: you don't just implement systems, you own whether they work reliably in production.

What's Nice to Have

  • Experience at a hardware, manufacturing, or consumer electronics company.
  • Experience with multi-region e-commerce, multiple entities/currencies, 3PLs, serialized inventory, RMAs, or complex fulfillment.
  • Google Cloud experience, including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, or Pub/Sub.
  • Data warehouse experience, including data modeling, pipeline scheduling, and data quality monitoring.
  • Experience with Looker, LookML, or another modern BI platform.
  • Experience with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or building AI-powered internal tools and agents.
  • NetSuite certification such as SuiteFoundation, NetSuite Administrator, or SuiteCloud Developer.
  • Experience designing financial controls or supporting audits in a high-growth company.

What You'll Love

  • Competitive salary, equity, and health benefits
  • Paid company holidays plus 20 PTO days per year
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Flexible work hours and locations, including every other Friday off!
  • 401K with matching for US employees
  • The chance to work at a startup that is making a positive social and environmental impact
