The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading HPS's business development strategy and driving sustainable growth across the company's service lines. This position owns sales strategy, pipeline performance, market development, strategic prospect relationships, and the development of initiatives designed to expand HPS's reach and generate new business.

 

The Director works closely with Executive Management, service-line leadership, marketing, and sales support to identify growth opportunities and move qualified prospects toward engagement.

 

Success in this role requires strong business judgment, initiative, strategic thinking, relationship development, and the ability to translate company goals and market opportunities into measurable business development activity.

 

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Leads HPS business development strategy and identifies opportunities to grow service lines, reach new markets, and generate qualified opportunities.
  • Maintains oversight of the sales pipeline, establishes priorities, and monitors performance against business development goals and KPIs.
  • Leads discovery and sales conversations, develops strategic prospect relationships, and advances qualified opportunities toward engagement.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of HPS services, pricing, capabilities, and operations to effectively position solutions based on prospect needs.
  • Partners with Executive Management and service-line leadership on complex opportunities, proposals, pricing, scope, and negotiations.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with prospective clients, referral partners, industry associations, and other strategic partners.
  • Represents HPS at conferences, industry events, association meetings, and other business development opportunities.
  • Develops marketing and demand-generation strategies aligned with business goals, including campaign priorities, target audiences, positioning, and measures of success.
  • Provides strategic direction and approval for marketing campaigns, business development content, website initiatives, and sales collateral.
  • Uses pipeline, sales, marketing, and market data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and guide growth priorities.
  • Leads the strategic use and optimization of HubSpot, including pipeline structure, lead management, reporting, lead scoring, automation, and sales workflows.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve business development processes through technology, AI, automation, and other tools.
  • Directs sales support activity and establishes processes for routine prospect follow-up, CRM maintenance, scheduling, proposal coordination, and other sales administration while maintaining ownership of key prospect relationships.
  • Collaborates with Executive Management, service-line leadership, marketing, and sales support to ensure business development activity remains aligned with company priorities.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, business judgment, follow-through, and the ability to balance immediate sales opportunities with longer-term growth priorities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales and business development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of marketing experience, including campaign strategy, development, and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic sales and marketing copy, including campaign messaging, website content, sales materials, and other business development communications.
  • Demonstrated design experience with the ability to create, direct, and evaluate professional digital and print marketing materials.
  • Strong proficiency using AI tools in a professional environment for content development, research, analysis, automation, workflow optimization, and other business development applications.
  • Minimum 3 years of CRM experience; HubSpot experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze sales, marketing, campaign, and pipeline data and translate findings into actionable growth strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, relationship-development, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with Executive Management and cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to travel as needed for conferences and industry events, typically 3–5 trips per year and not expected to exceed approximately 10% annual travel.
  • Home health, hospice, healthcare, or other regulated-industry experience preferred.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time, salaried, exempt position
