Position Summary

We are a fast-growing, multi-location healthcare and wellness company seeking a Controller to own the full accounting function. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to executive leadership, with visibility into every aspect of the business.

The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and brings the operational rigor needed to support a business in growth mode. You will manage a small team, drive process improvement across the accounting function, and produce financials that support strategic decision-making—including potential financing, partnership, or transaction activity.

Job Duties

•      Own the month-end and year-end close process across multiple entities and states, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

•      Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including location-level and consolidated P&Ls.

•      Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, and account analyses.

•      Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting (including pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory).

•      Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; deliver variance analysis with actionable commentary for executive leadership.

•      Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and multi-state regulatory requirements.

•      Manage multi-state tax compliance, including sales tax, franchise tax, and coordination with external tax advisors.

•      Support lender reporting, covenant compliance, and debt schedule management.

•      Prepare financial deliverables for potential transactions, including quality of earnings support, normalized EBITDA analysis, and due diligence data requests.

•      Own the relationship with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.

•      Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes, including optimizing the current ERP platform.

•      Supervise and develop a small accounting team; build the function as the company scales.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Needed

•      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

•      CPA certification required (active or inactive).

•      7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager role.

•      Experience in a multi-location, multi-entity environment (healthcare, retail, or services industries preferred).

•      Strong command of GAAP, financial consolidation, and multi-state tax compliance.

•      Proficiency with modern accounting platforms (Campfire, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

•      Experience supporting M&A, refinancing, or other capital markets activity is a significant plus.

•      Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills—able to translate financial data into business insight for non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Preferred

•      MBA or Master’s in Accounting/Finance.

•      Experience with healthcare or medical services revenue recognition.

•      Familiarity with membership and subscription billing models.

•      Experience managing or implementing an ERP migration.

•      Prior experience preparing financials for a business sale or quality of earnings engagement.

What we offer

•       Competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus.

•       Direct access to executive leadership and board-level visibility.

•       Opportunity to build and shape the finance function in a high-growth company.

•       Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.

•       Employee discounts on company services.
