Imagineeer

UiPath Developer

About the role

Imagineeer, LLC is seeking a skilled UiPath Developer to design, build, and deploy Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions supporting a large-scale federal HR modernization initiative. This role will lead the automation of processing and uploading approximately 59,000 Position Descriptions (PDs) into the designated OPM staffing platform, working closely with HR subject matter experts, project managers, and OPM stakeholders to ensure accurate, scalable, and auditable automation.

This is a hands-on development role requiring deep UiPath expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a federal contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy UiPath automations to process and upload approximately 59,000 PDs into the designated OPM staffing platform.
  • Build scalable, resilient UiPath workflows using best practices for large-volume document ingestion and structured data extraction.
  • Execute automation primarily via attended bot; configure UiPath components (Data Service, Orchestrator, Studio, Robot) for unattended execution as needed.
  • Develop custom activities, reusable components, and integrations using UiPath Studio and .NET-based scripting.
  • Build robust error-handling logic to capture exceptions, retry failures, and produce audit logs.
  • Create processes to handle edge cases such as missing data, version conflicts, or corrupted files.
  • Integrate UiPath workflows with OPM's staffing platform using APIs, web forms automation, secure authentication, or other approved mechanisms.
  • Work with HR modernization teams to confirm correct field-level mapping between HHS PD data and OPM platform input fields.
  • Monitor bot performance during production runs; tune workflows for speed, stability, and error reduction.
  • Produce operational reporting including processing counts, success rates, exception logs, and processing trends.
  • Partner with HR SMEs, project managers, data analysts, and OPM stakeholders to finalize processing rules and automation logic.
  • Provide guidance on RPA best practices, scalability considerations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support troubleshooting during go-live, stabilization, and transition to sustained operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing automations in UiPath Studio.
  • Demonstrated experience with UiPath Orchestrator, Robot, and Data Service.
  • Experience configuring and deploying both attended and unattended automation.
  • Proficiency in .NET-based scripting (VB.NET or C#) for custom activity development.
  • Experience with API integration, web form automation, and secure authentication methods.
  • Strong understanding of RPA error-handling patterns, exception management, and audit logging.
  • Experience processing large volumes of structured/semi-structured documents (e.g., PDF data extraction).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work directly with non-technical HR stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • UiPath certification (UiPath Certified RPA Associate/Developer or Advanced Developer).
  • Prior experience supporting federal government clients or HR modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with OPM systems, federal Position Description (PD) processes, or HR IT platforms.
  • Experience with document AI/OCR tools for structured data extraction from PDFs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required federal suitability/clearance.
