Jack Westin

Social Media Manager

About Jack Westin

Jack Westin is a leading Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) preparation company which is known for crafting high quality, but free, practice materials. The MCAT tests students on the scientific reasoning skills and scientific knowledge which can be learned during typical undergraduate coursework.

Our Three Principles

As we continue to grow and help students, we are guided by three major principles that we believe are vital to our community.

Attention to quality

We only create courses and practice questions that we would use. That means having the best, first-class teaching content that can possibly exist. We're not satisfied with mediocrity. We don't care about the amount of time or money it takes to get something done right. If it's not perfect, we won't stop until we believe it is. This ethos runs deep within our company.

Excellence in support

We're obsessed with our students. Their well-being and success drives us each day. Great customer service is not an afterthought. It is the most important service we can offer. We understand that our students come from different learning backgrounds. It's our mission to ensure that each one has an amazing experience.

Learn from anywhere at anytime

We are committed to building the future of education on the internet so that it is easily accessible to all students from around the world. Our dedication is to all students who want to learn, regardless of their pace, and no matter what time of the day it is.

Social Media Manager (Remote | $2,000–$2,500/month)

We are looking for a creative, proactive and results-driven Social Media Manager to lead and develop Jack Westin’s social media presence across all key digital platforms. You will build brand awareness, drive engagement with our FREE and PAID educational resources, generate qualified leads and support customer acquisition through high-quality content and targeted campaigns.

This role goes beyond traditional social media management. It combines creative content development, brand management, audience growth, lead generation and performance analysis, with a clear focus on measurable business results. Working closely with the wider Marketing team, you will own the social content calendar, coordinate content production and distribution, and monitor performance against agreed KPIs.

Our objective is to transform Jack Westin’s social media channels into a coordinated, engaging and commercially effective marketing function that strengthens our reputation as a leading MCAT preparation provider, attracts new students and supports their journey from discovering our FREE resources to becoming paying customers.

What You'll Do

  • Build and run channel-specific strategies for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, and other platforms where pre-med students spend their time, including launching our LinkedIn Newsletter.
  • Grow a relevant audience, not just a large one. Increase reach, watch time, engagement, and branded search among prospective MCAT students, and keep an eye on how competitors position themselves.
  • Turn our free resources into an acquisition channel. Promote daily passages, practice questions, and other free tools in ways that drive registrations and repeat use.
  • Support JW+, our premium courses, and tutoring with product demos, launch content, and campaigns that make our differentiation obvious.
  • Make social a measurable lead source. Place approved Calendly booking links across profiles and campaigns, and work with Marketing Operations and our Data Analyst to track every booking back to the channel and campaign that produced it.
  • Build our testimonial program. Find students with stories worth telling, collect written and video testimonials with proper consent, and turn them into platform-native content for brand, product, and lead campaigns.
  • Keep the brand consistent across every format, from YouTube podcasts and thumbnails to Instagram Reels and TikTok, so students recognize us wherever they find us.
  • Test calls to action, formats, and hooks continuously, then iterate based on what the data says rather than what we expected to work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid experience owning social media for a brand, ideally one where social was expected to drive sign-ups, leads, or sales. We care more about the depth of the work than the year count.
  • Proven outcomes. At least one campaign you can walk us through with the numbers before and after, whether that is reach, registrations, booked calls, or revenue.
  • A strong understanding of how each platform works, from YouTube watch time to TikTok hooks to Reddit community norms, and content that feels native to each one.
  • Creative thinking combined with commercial awareness: the ability to explain how content contributes to business growth, not only how many likes it got.
  • Comfort with platform analytics and campaign tracking (UTMs, attribution, CRM reporting), enough to form your own hypotheses rather than waiting for someone to hand you one.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and strong instincts for a US audience, whether or not you live there. Our students are almost entirely US-based pre-meds.
  • Confidence working with real students: interviewing them, building trust, and handling their stories and consent with care.
  • Hands-on use of AI in your workflow, with specific examples of where it speeds you up and where you stopped trusting the output.
  • The ability to learn a new industry quickly and without hand holding. Within your first month, we would expect you to understand how the MCAT works, who our students are, and what each competitor promises.

What we offer

  • Fully remote position with flexible working arrangements
  • $2,000–$2,500 per month
  • Full-time engagement with a stable, US-based company
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful projects with a professional, collaborative team
