About Mytra:
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About the role
As a Senior Engineering Technician at Mytra, you will join our Manufacturing Engineering team during a period of rapid scaling and production growth. Our team is focused on optimizing assembly lines and hardware reliability; we need a highly proficient specialist to plan and execute cross-functional work that bridges the gap between design and high-quality production.
What you’ll do:
- Lead Production Continuity: Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot non-routine assembly processes to ensure cross-team efficiency and daily manufacturing continuity.
- Standardize & Author Processes: Independently develop and maintain high-quality work instructions (SOPs) and detailed technical documentation to ensure every unit meets Mytra’s standards.
- Optimize Workflow: Apply structured problem-solving to lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and implement systematic workflow improvements across the floor.
- Manage & Calibrate Assets: Oversee tooling equipment, including configuring calibration schedules, preventive maintenance, and inventory tracking.
- Validate Hardware: Lead product prototype builds and support first-article inspections (FAI) to validate manufacturing systems and engineering changes.
Ideal Candidates
- Have proven, senior-level experience with mechanical assembly, shop tools, and interpreting complex technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Have Multi-Material Fabrication experience, including welding and machine tool familiarity.
- Have experience with building structures (steel or wood), including planning the movement of heavy components safely with a mastery of level, plumb, and parallelism.
- Are proficient in Metrology & Inspection tools like calipers, height gauges and micrometers.
- Have an Associate degree (or equivalent) with at least 5-6 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or prototyping environment.
- Demonstrate advanced analytical problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate technical issues clearly across both engineering and operations teams.
- Champion 5S methodology to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Are physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and remaining mobile throughout the facility.
- Experience working at heights.
- Excellent spatial awareness in terms of where you are relative to overhead hazards, moving equipment and other crew members.
- Have experience with rigging, including use of slings, shackles, hooks, etc.
- Are expert users of modern documentation tools (Google Suite) and manufacturing software systems (ERP/MRP) like Arena or Linear.
Nice to have:
- Technical Design Skills: Experience with CAD software for minor tooling adjustments or layout planning.
- Process Certification: Lean Six Sigma certification or deep familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Specialized Logistics: Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
- Electronics Expertise: Experience with wire harness builds, cable termination, and harness routing.
