Escrow Officer

SUMMARY

As an Escrow  Closer 1 , you will assist with the escrow closing process, including compliance with lender instructions, title insurance requirements, and other written instructions. You will be the single point of contact for all parties from the time we receive the transaction through closing. You will prepare all closing documents necessary to ensure title insurance is issued at closing. High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and focus on deadlines will determine your success in this role.


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for effectively managing the real estate closing transaction. This position requires the Escrow Closer to exercise independent judgment and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle situations which may arise during the closing process.
  • Understand the escrow process to determine what steps need to be taken to properly cure e title of properties pursuant to the conditions called for in the real estate contract and/or lender instructions.
  • Prepare all closing documents necessary to ensure title insurance is issued at closing.
  • Secure all documents (corrective and others) that may be required for the issuance of title insurance.
  • Single point of contact for borrowers, loan officers, processors and others.
  • Assist customers and clients with closing related questions.
  • Prior to disbursement, confirm all funds are collected, all appropriate documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are collected, and acknowledgements and legal descriptions are correct.
  • Collect all taxes due, HOA dues, and any delinquencies and/or principal and interest.
  • Verify against the closing disclosure or settlement that all disbursements have been paid correctly.
  • Prior to recording, verify all legal documents for correct acknowledgements, legal, and lien information.
  • Manage and develop client relationships to ensure future real estate closing transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the title and escrow industry
  • Excellent customer service skills are required, including the ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with Borrowers, Loan officers, Processors, and Underwriters
  • Familiarity with Refinance transactions and requirements 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the escrow process and mortgage lending regulations
  •  Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Deadline-driven.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams


Preferred Qualifications:


Minimum 1 year of experience in escrow closing

  • Experience with Qualia/Resware is strongly preferred. Experience with Softpro or similar software will also be considered.
  • Multi-state residential closing experience strongly preferred


Work Schedule:

  • Flexible scheduling available, including late shifts to support extended operating hours.


  • Saturday work may be required based on volume or deadlines.


  • Standard shifts typically fall between 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM local time, with late shifts ranging from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, depending on team needs.


  • All work is performed remotely, supporting refinance transactions nationwide.
