Role Summary

Overland AI is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our Business Operations team. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day procurement and purchasing activities required to support the company’s manufacturing and operational requirements. This role will primarily focus on purchasing production components and materials, managing purchase orders, maintaining accurate purchasing records, developing effective supplier relationships, and coordinating with Engineering, Inventory Control, and other internal stakeholders to ensure the availability of materials when needed.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly. The Buyer will play an important role in maintaining material flow through the warehouse and production operation while balancing cost, quality, lead time, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

This position requires strong communication and follow-through. The Procurement Specialist will regularly interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve purchase order issues, monitor material deliveries, address non-conforming materials, and help ensure that production has the components necessary to meet company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for production components, raw materials, supplies, and other inventory and non-inventory items in accordance with established requirements, specifications, approved suppliers, pricing, and lead times.
• Obtain and maintain supplier quotations, pricing information, lead times, minimum order quantities, and other purchasing information.
• Support cost-reduction and sourcing initiatives by identifying opportunities for improved pricing, lead times, terms, quality, or supply continuity.

• Coordinate with suppliers and Inventory Control to resolve receiving discrepancies, quantity issues, damaged materials, and documentation problems.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data within the company’s ERP system.
• Identify potential material shortages and escalate risks that could affect production schedules.

• Contribute to supplier evaluations, vendor records, and supplier scorecards.

• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Inventory Control, and suppliers to ensure non-conforming materials are properly documented and dispositioned.
• Help ensure that purchasing decisions support both near-term production requirements and longer-term inventory objectives.

• Work closely with Engineering and Inventory Control to maintain appropriate inventory levels throughout the warehouse.
• Support material planning activities during periods of increased production, new product introduction, or changing demand.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, approved supplier requirements, government requirements and established procurement processes.

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations or related field – or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years of applied experience in purchasing, procurement, materials management, supply chain, or related in a manufacturing environment.

Experience & Qualifications 

• Experience purchasing components, materials, supplies, or other goods for a manufacturing operation.
• Strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple purchase orders, suppliers, and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working with engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), part numbers, and engineering specifications
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and purchasing or inventory modules
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Engineering, Quality, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Finance and Supply Chain teams.
• Demonstrated ability to follow through on open issues and drive them to resolution.

This position will be located in Seattle, WA.

Compensation And Benefits

Pay range:

Procurement Specialist I: $90,000 – $115,000 annually 
Procurement Specialist II: $120K – $140K annually

Actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
