Director, Strategy & FP&A

RTS is an enthusiast culture company that builds at the intersection of gaming, creators, and brands. From global live events to bespoke branded content, we exist to create meaningful connections between fans and the worlds they love. Our team brings deep expertise across partnership sales and marketing, talent management, event production, media, community building, and IP development.

Role Overview

RTS is seeking a Director of Strategy & FP&A to help shape and execute the company's strategic priorities while leading its financial planning and analysis function across its global esports, live events, media, e-commerce, and partnership businesses. Reporting directly to the CFO, this highly visible, hands-on role will serve as a key strategic and financial thought partner to the CEO, Chairman of the Board, and senior leadership team on the company's most critical initiatives.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations, with responsibility for overseeing FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial and operational analysis, and management reporting. The Director will work closely with the CFO and business leaders to challenge assumptions, connect financial performance with strategic priorities, and translate complex financial, operational, and market data into clear, decision-oriented insights and recommendations.

Strategy and FP&A will serve as the analytical foundation for one of the role's most important responsibilities: owning the end-to-end Board of Directors presentation process. This includes financial analysis, storyline development, executive synthesis, and final presentation development, ensuring that strategy, operating performance, financial outlook, key risks, and management priorities are presented as a cohesive narrative. The Director will also anticipate the Board's questions and ensure management is prepared with the analysis and context needed to address them.

This role is ideally suited for someone with experience in management consulting, strategic finance, FP&A, or corporate strategy who combines structured, data-driven thinking with strong financial acumen and exceptional executive storytelling skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on, from reviewing and building financial models and analyses to developing Board-level presentations and helping translate high-level strategy into execution.

Reporting Structure

You will report to the Chief Financial Officer, with significant direct exposure to the CEO and senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
Board Reporting, Strategic Analysis & Decision Support
  • Own and drive the end-to-end Board of Directors presentation process, including storyline development, coordination of inputs, analysis, executive synthesis, and preparation of final Board materials.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and CEO to develop a clear and cohesive Board narrative that connects strategy, operating performance, financial outlook, key risks, and management priorities.
  • Anticipate questions, information needs, and areas of focus from the Board and Qiddiya, and work across Strategy, FP&A, and business teams to ensure management is prepared with clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Gather, challenge, and synthesize inputs from business leaders, FP&A, and functional teams into concise, decision-oriented materials.
  • Translate complex financial, operational, market, and competitive information into clear insights and visually effective executive presentations for audiences who may not be close to the day-to-day business.
  • Structure complex business questions into clear analytical frameworks and develop data-driven recommendations to support key strategic decisions.
  • Incorporate financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business economics into strategic recommendations and Board materials.
  • Support strategic presentations and materials for Qiddiya (parent company) and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure Board and parent-company materials are accurate, internally consistent, well-supported, and presented at an executive level.
Strategic Planning
  • Support the development and evolution of RTS's overall corporate strategy and long-range strategic priorities.
  • Partner with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership to evaluate key strategic questions, opportunities, and trade-offs.
  • Lead strategic analyses across RTS's Events, Media, E-commerce, Service Partnerships, and other current or emerging business areas.
  • Translate company strategy into clear priorities, initiatives, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support annual and long-range strategic planning in partnership with Finance and business leaders.
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Oversee the FP&A function, including annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial analysis, and management reporting.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and challenge financial forecasts, operating assumptions, KPIs, and business performance.
  • Lead and develop the FP&A team, providing direction on priorities, analysis, reporting, and business partnership, while remaining hands-on as needed in a lean finance organization.
  • Oversee financial and scenario modeling to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and key business decisions.
Growth & Business Strategy
  • Evaluate new markets, business models, partnerships, products, events, and other growth opportunities.
  • Develop market assessments, competitive analyses, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
  • Assess the attractiveness, risks, economics, and strategic fit of potential new initiatives.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and refine growth strategies across existing business units.
  • Monitor relevant trends across esports, gaming, media, live events, entertainment, and adjacent industries.
  • Support the evaluation of strategic investments, acquisitions, partnerships, or other corporate development opportunities as needed.
Strategic Initiatives & Execution
  • Lead and support high-priority cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the Board, CEO, and CFO.
  • Translate strategic recommendations into actionable plans and work with business leaders to drive execution.
  • Establish clear workstreams, milestones, ownership, and success measures for key initiatives.
  • Help identify and resolve cross-functional issues that may impact execution of the company's strategic priorities.
  • Operate hands-on when needed, including personally building analyses, models, presentations, and recommendations rather than relying on a large team.
  • Support other special projects and strategic initiatives as the needs of the business evolve.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience, including meaningful experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic finance, FP&A, business operations, or a similarly rigorous strategic environment.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills with demonstrated experience owning and developing executive or Board-level presentations, including storyline development, executive synthesis, and presentation design.
  • Strong Excel and financial/analytical modeling skills, with the ability to independently analyze data and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Slides and Google Sheets, preferred.
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex financial, operational, and strategic information into clear messages for the Board and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure to evolving business inputs, identify what matters, and develop clear recommendations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate business models, growth opportunities, and investment decisions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and credibly with senior executives and work effectively across functions.
  • High degree of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial, and relatively flat organization.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a willingness to be hands-on and drive work through execution.

Bonus Points
  • Prior management consulting experience is strongly preferred, particularly at a leading strategy consulting firm such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or a Big Four firm.
  • Experience in gaming, esports, media, entertainment, live events, technology, sports, or other adjacent industries is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience working in a startup, high-growth, or entrepreneurial organization.
  • Experience supporting Board, investor, parent-company, or ownership reporting.
  • Experience evaluating new businesses, markets, strategic investments, acquisitions, or partnerships.
