Performance Creative Lead
The role
The Performance Creative Lead will drive creative strategy for Rugiet’s longevity and new product portfolio, from launch through scale. You’ll turn customer insight, product positioning, and performance data into roadmaps, briefs, and tests that find winning messages and drive growth.
This is a hands-on role working across growth, product marketing, creative, paid social, analytics, and compliance. You’ll own briefing and creative reporting for the portfolio, develop product roadmaps for growth leadership approval, and partner with internal and external teams to bring concepts to market.
What you’ll do
- Maintain a rolling two-month creative roadmap for each live product, broken out by week, with audiences, angles, formats, and target ship dates. Bring roadmaps and the new product launch calendar to growth leadership for approval.
- Coordinate creative readiness for new product launches and develop an initial creative strategy as part of each go-to-market plan, from demand capture to demand creation. Partner with product marketing on messaging and value propositions.
- Work with the Head of Growth to set creative volume targets by product based on win rate, scale, and the path to revenue run rate. Balance net-new concepts and iterations as each product matures, and allocate brief volume across partners based on performance.
- Own creative briefing for the longevity and new product portfolio, including direction on formats, angles, and hooks. Translate product positioning and research into clear, actionable briefs, and identify the initial target persona for each product’s first acquisition push.
- Write scripts for internal video ads and manage a steady stream of briefs for internal video and static production. Brief external creative partners, guide concept direction, and align them to the roadmap and product-level volume targets.
- Own portfolio creative performance reporting in Rugiet’s standard format for the weekly performance review and biweekly ad and influencer pipeline leadership review. Explain the trends and insights behind results and use them to direct the next roadmap.
- Establish product-level win rates appropriate to creative volume and spend, particularly before campaigns mature into a testing and scaling structure. Partner with paid social and analytics to investigate product-specific trends, distinguish weak creative from insufficient data, and decide what to expand, iterate, or stop.
- Partner with product marketing to define target audiences by product. Conduct regular audience, review, content-trend, and competitive research; determine where audiences differ by SKU; and turn research and survey findings into creative tests.
- Partner with creative strategy enablement and AI specialists to use AI tools that improve the speed and depth of research.
- Share upcoming creative strategy and performance insights with the landing page and CRO teams. Recommend messaging, content, or persona tests and flag when a paid social audience or angle needs a dedicated landing page.
- Partner with clinical and compliance teams on product-specific claims and guardrails so they are clear in the creative brief.
- Support sexual health creative strategy and briefing during launches, peak demand, or planned absences as prioritized by leadership. Share learnings across product lines while the sexual health lead retains accountability for that portfolio.
What we’re looking for
- 8+ years of experience in creative strategy, performance creative, direct-response marketing, or a closely related field, including experience leading strategy across teams or partners.
- A track record of developing and scaling creative that drives measurable acquisition or revenue outcomes. You can explain the insight, test design, results, and your role in the work.
- Deep paid social fluency, especially Meta, with experience across channels such as TikTok and YouTube and an understanding of how creative, media, and landing pages work together.
- Strong consumer psychology, copy, and concepting skills. You can turn a customer objection or data point into a compelling hook, angle, and brief.
- Experience building high-volume testing programs and managing competing priorities across products, creative teams, and external partners.
- Comfort using performance data to make decisions, distinguish signal from noise, and translate results into the next round of creative.
- Experience directing UGC, creators, influencers, or expert-led content, with sound judgment about what feels native and credible.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and bring teams together without relying on formal authority.
- A hands-on, curious approach and comfort moving quickly in a changing DTC environment.
A plus
- Experience in healthcare, telehealth, men’s health, wellness, or another regulated consumer category.
- Experience with subscription commerce, advertorial funnels, creator whitelisting, or multiple products and customer segments.
- Experience developing creative that performs within complex claims, disclosure, and platform-policy constraints.
What success looks like
- A live two-month roadmap for each product in market, updated weekly and visible to leadership and partners, with clear launch readiness dates and measurable partner adherence.
- Consistent weekly delivery of internal and partner briefs and creative against product-level volume targets, with a repeatable launch workback schedule.
- A documented, research-backed target audience, including customer language and pain points, for each product before its first brief; new segments are identified and tested regularly.
- A repeatable approach to finding and scaling winning messages, with a product-level win-rate baseline established within the first 60 days of launch and measures evolving as spend and volume mature.
- Clear weekly and biweekly reporting that connects creative decisions to product revenue run-rate objectives, identifies when data is insufficient, and recommends which tests to expand or stop.
- Product and audience learnings are shared with landing page and CRO partners and applied to subsequent launches.
