Description of Duties:

Title: Allocator

Classification: Exempt

Hourly Range*: $65,000-$75,000

Location: Van Nuys, CA

Schedule*: Hybrid, Monday through Friday, 9:00AM-5:30PM (in office a minimum of 3 days/week currently Monday, Tuesday, Thursday but subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Position Overview

We are seeking an Allocator to support inventory flow, replenishment, and store-level inventory management across our growing retail business.


This role will partner closely with Planning, Buying, Retail, Visual Merchandising, and Operations to ensure inventory is flowing efficiently and strategically across stores, distribution centers, and product launches. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, operationally-minded, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.


This is a highly collaborative role that combines analytical inventory management with operational execution and cross-functional communication.


Key Responsibilities

Replenishment & Inventory Management

  • Execute biweekly replenishment strategies across retail stores
  • Analyze store-level sales and inventory performance to identify replenishment opportunities and risks
  • Manage inventory balancing and transfer recommendations across store fleet
  • Support ongoing optimization of replenishment tools and processes
  • Monitor inventory flow and identify operational inefficiencies

Product Launches & Initial Allocations

  • Support upfront allocation planning for new product launches and store openings
  • Partner with Planning and Buying teams to align allocations with sales plans, assortment strategies, and capacity constraints
  • Assist in launch inventory management and post-launch rebalancing

RTVs, Transfers & Operational Execution

  • Partner with Director of Visual Merchandising on monthly RTV’s
  • Manage RTV and inter-store transfer execution and tracking
  • Coordinate with stores and distribution center to ensure timely inventory movement
  • Follow up on transfer orders and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Help establish and maintain operational timelines and process standards

Store & Cross-Functional Communication

  • Serve as a key point of contact for store inventory requests and allocation-related questions
  • Partner closely with Retail leadership to support inventory priorities and escalations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Buying, Operations, and Visual Merchandising teams

Reporting & Analysis

  • Support recurring inventory analysis and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting automation and operational efficiency
  • Monitor inventory health, aging inventory, and promotional inventory opportunities

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Execute allocation uploads and inventory system maintenance
  • Troubleshoot allocation and inventory system issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, tools, and operational processes

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of experience in Allocation, Merchandise Planning, Inventory Management, or related retail function
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Experience supporting retail store fleets preferred
  • Experience with allocation/inventory systems preferred
