SmartBug Media is one of the most respected names in the HubSpot ecosystem — and we've earned it.
We didn't get here by accident. SmartBug has built a reputation that most agencies only aspire to: HubSpot North American Partner of the Year, a fully remote team of specialists who punch well above their weight, and a client base that doesn't just hire us — they stay with us. That last part is the one we're most proud of.
Remote by design and strategic by nature, we've never believed that great work requires a corner office or a campus cafeteria. What it requires is the right people, deeply aligned on outcomes, working with clients who trust them to deliver. That's the culture we've built — one where expertise travels, relationships run deep, and the work speaks for itself.
We're obsessed with client outcomes. Not vanity metrics. Not feel-good reports. Real, measurable growth that makes our clients look like heroes inside their own organizations. When SmartBug is in your corner, your team wins — and that's exactly why our clients keep coming back.
We're growing, our client portfolio is expanding, and the relationships we've built are stronger than ever. What we need next is a leader who understands that the hardest part of this business isn't winning clients — it's becoming so embedded in their success that leaving simply isn't an option. If you've built that kind of loyalty before, if you know what it takes to transform a good client relationship into a decade-long partnership, and if you're energized by the idea of architecting that function at scale — we want to meet you.
About the role
We're looking for a Delivery Solutions Architect to join the Integrations team at SmartBug. This person
owns the technical shape of an integration project — and is the reason what gets built matches what
was sold.
The primary focus of this role is delivery execution. You're one of the client's first point of contact
when a new integration kicks off. You review the signed Statement of Work, work directly with the
client to close any gaps in understanding, and turn that shared understanding into clear project
documentation — data maps, systems diagrams, and well-defined tasks the development team can
pick up and run with. You stay with the project as oversight, providing consultation and overall
successful technical execution of the project. This role works closely with the technical solutions team
to understand the skill set and capabilities in order to provide recommend the best execution plan
and resources.
A portion of your time sits upstream with sales. Sales owns the front door on new opportunities; you
provide the technical depth behind them on integration-heavy deals — feasibility on unfamiliar
systems, effort estimates you'll later deliver against, and answers a buyer's technical lead will accept.
Because you also build the work, your estimates carry weight.
If you're energized by untangling ambiguity, building client trust early, and setting developers up for a
clean handoff, this is the role.
What you'll do
Delivery Execution
- Own the technical direction of assigned integration projects from kickoff through launch
- Serve as one of the client's primary technical point of contact (with a PM or AM) at the kickoff of every new integration project
- Review the signed Statement of Work (SOW) to fully understand project scope, deliverables, and timeline
- Lead discovery conversations with client stakeholders to close any gaps between the SOW and what the project actually needs
- Own and maintain the effort model for integration work — documented patterns and assumptions per integration type, so estimates rest on evidence rather than per-deal judgment
- Produce the technical documentation and client references that qualify SmartBug for HubSpot Custom Integration accreditation and stand up in a competitive bake-off
- Document requirements clearly as decisions are made, so nothing gets lost between scoping and delivery
- Build data maps that show how information moves and transforms between systems
- Create systems diagrams that lay out the integration architecture at a glance
- Design the automation infrastructure behind an integration — the workflows, triggers, and error handling that keep data moving after go-live
- Own cross-platform stability: anticipate where an integration will break under load, volume, or a client-side change, and design against it
- Break the project down into specific, developer-ready tasks and hand them off to the development team
- Stay engaged through delivery as the technical point of contact — resolving ambiguity and unblocking developers as it comes up
- Flag scope gaps, technical risks, or misaligned expectations early, before they affect timeline or budget
- Review the build against documented requirements before it reaches the client
Sales Support
- Join scoping and discovery calls with sales on new and expansion integration opportunities
- Assess technical feasibility and surface the constraints that change the shape of a deal
- Translate client requirements into effort estimates, assumptions, and dependencies the delivery team can stand behind
- Review draft SOWs before signature for scope clarity, missing dependencies, and technical risk
- Answer client technical questions during the sales cycle without overpromising what can be built
- Feed delivery reality back into scoping — where estimates missed, which assumptions broke, and what to word differently next time
Required Qualifications
Core Competencies
- Self-starter, passionate about process development and improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for turning ambiguous requirements into structured documentation
- Ability to independently and professionally handle multiple projects and clients simultaneously
- Comfortable moving between deep delivery work and fast-turnaround pre-sales requests without dropping either
- Credible with both audiences — able to hold a technical conversation with a developer and a commercial one with a sales lead
- Ability to identify the unanswered obstacles of a project and ensure alignment with stakeholders
- Strong ability to limit assumptions and unearth the critical requirements of a project
- Extremely comfortable solving new technical challenges and navigating unfamiliar territory in various types of environments
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility

Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in a solutions architecture, business analysis, or technical delivery role

- Experience creating data maps and/or systems diagrams for technical projects
- Solid understanding of how data flows between systems in an integration
- Experience translating client requirements into clear, developer-ready documentation
- Strong client-facing communication skills, with experience leading discovery or requirements-gathering sessions
- Comfort presenting technical recommendations and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience designing integrations that stay stable in production, not just at handoff
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with the systems that show up most in our work: NetSuite, Salesforce and

- Procore, Snowflake, and point-of-sale or industry-specific platforms
- Experience with REST, SOAP, or GraphQL APIs

- Experience supporting a sales team in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or scoping capacity
- Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, or Miro
