Supplier.io Careers

Business Development Representative

Supplier.io is the data foundation that enterprises build their supplier decisions on. Fragmented, duplicated, and unreliable supplier data quietly limits the ROI of source-to-pay platforms, analytics, risk, and AI initiatives, so we resolve, enrich, and continuously maintain the industry's most complete supplier identity, then put it to work for the teams that buy and the suppliers themselves. Relied on by companies across the Fortune 2000 for accurate data, our platform helps corporate procurement, finance, and compliance teams manage their vendor master, source diverse and sustainable suppliers, and mitigate risk, all from one verified identity instead of a dozen disconnected systems.

Our solutions turn that foundation into action: accurate data and continuous maintenance for teams managing a fragmented vendor master, sourcing intelligence built resolving even the hardest-to-identify suppliers, small, local, and diverse businesses, for teams tracking sustainability and compliance, and direct visibility for the suppliers themselves into where they stand with the enterprises that buy from them. Whether you're resolving vendor records, sourcing alternatives, or measuring program results, Supplier.io transforms complexity into clarity, so teams can lead with confidence and build supply chains that deliver for both business and community.

About the Role

This is not a traditional, dial for dollars BDR seat. We are building real pipeline, and we want someone who is genuinely excited to help build it with us. We are looking for someone with grit, curiosity, and drive, who takes ownership, brings good energy to the team, and enjoys figuring things out.

You will be the first point of contact for many of our prospective customers, so you will play a real role in shaping how people first experience Supplier.io. You will generate interest, qualify opportunities, and set the stage for the sales team to close. This role works Pacific Time core hours, so you will be in step with our West Coast prospects and the sales reps you support.

What You Will Do

  • Own multi-channel outreach: phone, email, and LinkedIn, to generate new business opportunities.
  • Research and build a pipeline of qualified net new leads through targeted, strategic prospecting rather than blanket volume.
  • Leverage AI prospecting tools, sales intelligence platforms, and the CRM to work efficiently and prioritize the right accounts.
  • Respond to and manage inbound leads promptly, qualifying them and moving them through the funnel.
  • Develop personalized outreach based on the account, individual role, industry, business priorities, and available engagement or intent signals.
  • Confidently engage individual contributors through C suite executives, delivering a clear and compelling pitch.
  • Assess prospect needs and fit and set qualified meetings for the Sales Executive team.
  • Maintain active, creative, and informed follow up cadences with prospects.
  • Monitor account and prospect signals including campaign engagement, company developments, business changes, and other indicators that can create a timely reason for outreach.
  • Set qualified meetings and create strong handoffs to Sales Executives, providing useful context on the contact, account, engagement history, known needs, and what prompted the  conversation.
  • Bring new ideas to outreach, messaging, and process. We want your thinking, not just your activity.
  • Meet and exceed activity and pipeline metrics defined by sales management.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 1+ year of cold calling or lead generation experience into National or Enterprise accounts preferred.
  • Strong account research and prospecting instincts, with the ability to quickly understand a company, identify relevant contacts, and determine the best way into an organization.
  • Grit and self-motivation. You take initiative, run with things, and enjoy the challenge of creating opportunities from a cold start.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage executive level contacts.
  • Strong research and prospecting instincts, comfortable using AI tools to work smarter.
  • Career oriented, with a goal of advancing into a closing sales role.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, environment
  • Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work Pacific Time core hours.

Why Join Us

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission.
  • A clear, supported path for career growth into closing sales roles and beyond.
  • Ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship from a team that wants to see you succeed.
  • A collaborative culture that welcomes new ideas and celebrates results.
  • The chance to help build something real, and to grow alongside it.
