About the role
- Paralegal will assist the Attorney and other team members in preparing pleadings, motions, complaints, letters, notices and orders for foreclosure litigation defense and creditor bankruptcy cases and loss mitigation.
What you'll do
- Preparation of bankruptcy motions, judgments and stipulations, objections, complaints, notices and orders
- Researches and retrieves relevant documents from various client databases
- Updates appropriate information in various client databases
- E-files documents with various courts
- Calendaring
- Sets up court hearings and meetings
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program or accredited post-secretary institution; a Bachelor’s degree and a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bankruptcy or Mortgage Servicer experience preferred but not required
- Computer skills proficient with a variety of software programs including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Black Knight, Equator, LPS, Tempo, Westlaw, PACER and ECF
