Job Purpose
  • As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at VulcanForms, you will play a critical role in developing, optimizing, and sustaining titanium powder handling and post-print manufacturing processes within our advanced additive manufacturing operations. This hands-on position supports the safe, efficient, and compliant movement, processing, control, and traceability of titanium powder throughout the manufacturing lifecycle while driving operational excellence across production.
  • Working closely with Operations, Quality, Materials, and Production teams, you will lead process improvements, develop standardized work instructions, ensure equipment readiness, manage powder lot traceability through MES/ERP systems, and provide day-to-day engineering support to the manufacturing floor. You will serve as the technical bridge between engineering and production, identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, throughput, and scalability while helping establish robust manufacturing processes that enable reliable production at industrial scale.
  • The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys solving complex production challenges, and takes ownership of implementing practical solutions that improve both process capability and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support titanium powder handling operations, including powder preparation, movement, removal, control, and post-print part handling.
  • Help manage powder lot control, supplier traceability, job assignment, and related MES / ERP transactions.
  • Work within Epicor and shop-floor systems to ensure accurate material tracking, process documentation, and production accountability.
  • Support the setup, qualification, and implementation of powder handling and post-print equipment.
  • Execute and document equipment IQ activities in partnership with engineering and operations teams.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and operator guidance.
  • Serve as a hands-on manufacturing engineering resource for operators, technicians, and production teams.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, and material-flow issues impacting powder handling and post-print operations.
  • Support DOE activities, process characterization, data review, and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and production teams to keep equipment and processes running effectively.
  • Work safely in a powder handling environment requiring proper PPE, including respirator use and controlled-area procedures.
Qualifications
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience in a hands-on production and process support environment.
  • Regulated Industry Manufacturing Environment experience (A&D & Medical Device Mfg. experience is a plus)
  • Equipment setup, equipment qualification, IQ documentation and production readiness experience
  • Strong ability to write clear work instructions, technical documentation, and manufacturing process procedures.
  • Experience working with ERP Systems (Epicor experience is a plus)
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work directly with operators and technicians on the floor.
  • Ability to analyze process data, document findings, and support process improvement activities.
  • Comfortable working in a highly controlled manufacturing environment and required PPE within a powder handling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, metal powder handling, powder control, or post-print operations.
  • Titanium, metal powder, powder metallurgy, or materials processing experience.
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with DOE, Minitab, process validation, or statistical analysis.
  • Experience supporting production ramp-up, manufacturing scale-up, or equipment transfer into operations.
