About the role

Anza's Market Insights is a quarterly publication covering U.S. solar PV and BESS markets for developers, IPPs, and other energy stakeholders. Each edition covers trade and policy developments, supplier landscape shifts, pricing trends, and technology advancements to inform clients' procurement strategies and investment decisions.

We are seeking a Principal Policy & Trade Analyst to lead Market Insights and Anza's broader market intelligence strategy. This is not a desk-only research role. We need someone active in the renewable energy industry, attending conferences, tracking trade and policy developments, engaging clients, and translating what you learn into intelligence that helps our clients make better decisions.

You will own Market Insights end-to-end: setting content strategy based on market demand, leading quarterly production, owning the policy and trade analysis, and representing Anza externally. You will work with Solar and BESS SMEs who provide deep technical content while you set the strategic direction. This role reports into Advisory Services leadership and is key to scaling Market Insights into a broader market intelligence capability.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Industry Presence & Market Intelligence

  • Attend key industry conferences, policy roundtables, and trade association working groups; build thought leadership through speaking and published content.
  • Maintain relationships across the trade ecosystem (SEIA, ACP, ESA, analysts, advisory firms) for early visibility into policy and market shifts.
  • Gather client and market intelligence to shape content strategy; track competitor offerings to identify gaps.

Policy & Trade Analysis

  • Author the Trade & Policy Update, Top Risks Outlook, and Executive Summary for each edition of Market Insights.
  • Monitor U.S. trade actions, legislation, and regulatory rulings affecting solar PV and BESS procurement; translate into clear client recommendations.
  • Own policy and trade content within Anza's Pulse product; develop new content areas based on market demand.

Editorial Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Lead content strategy, theme development, and quarterly production for Market Insights.
  • Coordinate with solar and BESS SMEs; source proprietary data and client intelligence that differentiate the publication.
  • Manage internal reviews, support Marketing with key themes, and identify opportunities to expand into alerts, briefings, and webinars.

Client & External Engagement

  • Represent Market Insights at events and client briefings; collect feedback to inform content planning.
  • Support sales efforts by demonstrating the publication's value to prospective clients.
