For more than 20 years, we have partnered with thousands of middle and high school students who aspire to be the first in their family to graduate with a degree or certificate. We make a radical, long-term commitment to students, to and through college, unlocking the power of education and a lifetime of opportunity. We support the whole student with personalized services, work closely with community partners, campuses, and employers, and advocate for our students with lawmakers. Breakthrough students attend 60+ public schools and persist at nearly 100 colleges and universities. The result is that 55% of Breakthrough students graduate from college, compared to 17% of low-income students in our region. ABOUT THE DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLWIDE PROGRAMS ROLE
The Director of Schoolwide Programs leads the implementation, quality, and outcomes of Breakthrough’s college access advising services across Schoolwide campuses Reporting to the Chief College Access Officer (CCAO), the Director translates Schoolwide program strategy into high-quality advising practice, drives consistent execution of college access systems, and is accountable for student outcomes across multiple campuses and teams. The Director supervises two Associate Directors of Schoolwide Programs, each leading a team to execute the college access programming on their campuses. The Director partners with school and district stakeholders and ensures alignment across advising programs to support students in successfully applying to, enrolling in, and matriculating into postsecondary pathways.
Campus-Level Implementation and School Partnerships: Serve as the primary partner to campus leaders, including principals, counselors, and CCMR staff, to ensure effective implementation of advising services, alignment with school priorities, and resolution of barriers impacting advising quality and student outcomes.
Advising Quality and Student Outcomes: Drive high-quality advising practices across teams by holding managers and advisors accountable for student progress and outcomes, including application completion, financial aid, enrollment, and successful matriculation.
Team Leadership and Talent Development: Lead through managers and program leads to strengthen advising practice, build team effectiveness, and foster a high-performing, inclusive, and student-centered culture with clear accountability for results.
Cross-Program Coordination and System Alignment: Ensure consistent execution of college access systems across Schoolwide programs by translating strategy into aligned workflows, tools, and practices that support seamless student transitions.
Data, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement: Oversee and embed the use of student and program data to monitor implementation quality, track outcomes, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement in advising systems and execution.
Training, Tools, and Advising Practice Alignment: Ensure advising teams are equipped with consistent training, tools, frameworks, and curriculum, reinforcing alignment to Breakthrough’s advising model and equity-centered practices.
Summer Success and Postsecondary Transition: Oversee summer transition and melt prevention efforts for Schoolwide students by ensuring students complete enrollment requirements, resolve barriers, and successfully matriculate into postsecondary institutions with aligned support across teams.

You bring experience in college access, youth development, or postsecondary success environments and are confident leading teams, developing talent, and working across programs and school systems to improve implementation and student outcomes.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Director of Schoolwide Programs reports to the Chief College Access Officer (CCAO). The Director partners closely with Associate Directors of College Access and senior leaders across the 12-Year High School and College and Career Success teams to drive alignment, execution consistency, and shared accountability for student outcomes.
