Job Title:  Subject Matter Expert - Addiction Worker

Hours: up to 20 hours per week


Start Date: Immediate


End Date: July 31, 2026



What you'll be doing:

  • Work as part of a curriculum development team to author course content on topics related to the field of Addictions including the effect of psychoactive drugs on the body, treatment and relapse prevention planning, person-centered counselling, case management, and the relationship between addiction and criminal behavior.
  • Collaborate with curriculum development team members to ensure course content is engaging, relevant, covers industry best practices, and is learner centered.
  • Collaborate with curriculum development team members to design effective assessments to evaluate learner achievement of course outcomes.


What you bring to the position:

  • BA/BSC or equivalent in Social Services and/or Addiction Counselling
  • 3 years of Professional experience in addiction worker, with a strong knowledge of industry practices.
  • Membership with the Canadian Addiction Counselors Certification Federation (CACCF)
  • Previous experience in curriculum development or collaboration with the academic team is preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and home office set up.
