Job Title: Scheduler/ Data Analyst 


Location: Hybrid role. Campus Support Centre- Mississauga, ON L5N 6S2  


Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm


Start Date: Immediate



The Opportunity:


The Scheduler/ Data Analyst position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing, a variety of schedules including Instructor, room, and intake schedules for the Career College campuses to optimize the use of their resources. The Scheduler/ Data Analyst will play a key role in ensuring resources are being optimized.



What you'll be doing:


Program & Course Scheduling:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize the variety of schedules for each campus according to the unique merge model.
  • Build and maintain campus schedules in a timely manner, working under deadlines set by Operations and Admissions leadership.
  • Work with the Information Systems team to build the schedule structure for mandatory non-credit courses, optional non-credit courses, participation modules, and then maintain these schedules once the structure is in place.
  • Extract and analyze scheduling data to determine resource and instructor requirements.
  • Extract, analyze, format, and present data from the College Administration Systems (XCAS) using Excel.
  • Collaborate with and support Campus and Operations Leadership teams in solving scheduling conflicts which include managing capacity and overcrowding conflicts.
  • Assist Academic Services in the implementation of new programs, program upgrades, and changes in XCAS.
  • Assist Information Systems in the creation of tools and systems that facilitate the analysis of data.
  • Check the accuracy of others’ scheduling work.
  • Provide training and support to the scheduling team.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Troubleshoot system alignments.
  • Extract and analyze scheduling data to assist with reporting.
  • Partner with team members to maintain and improve system alignments and improvements.
  • Collaborate in the creation of tools and systems that facilitate the analysis of data.
  • Determine which performance data to track, measure, and analyze the success of recently implemented strategies and suggest organizational changes. 
  • Prepare reports and executive summaries for submission for consideration of action.
  • Review data for comparison and trend analysis determination.
  • Build and maintain Break-Even Analysis (BEA) reporting to evaluate program viability and ensure scheduling aligns with financial and operational targets.
  • Prepare and maintain Average Class Size and Seat Utilization reporting and analysis to monitor efficiency and identify optimization opportunities.

What you bring to the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, or Science.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and SQL.
  • Experience working with scheduling concepts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to give a precise, timely, and accurate presentation that addresses data analysis and suggest clear recommendations.
