Hours: Full-time, Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Opportunity:
The Program Coordinator & Instructor is responsible for the administrative requirements of the Early Childhood Education Program as defined by triOS College and the Early Childhood Education.
The Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator and Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS College while contributing to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication, and readiness, embracing diversity, and fostering inclusion.
What you'll be doing:
Program Coordination Responsibilities: -
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the program curriculum as approved by the Provincial Regulator.
- Work with the Instructional Design and Digital Learning teams to develop instructional materials, such as instructor guides, evaluation tools (quizzes, tests, exams, and answer keys) and other resources for instructors and students. Encourage the participation of other faculty members in the development of instructional materials.
- Create, update, and maintain instructor guides.
- Develop a clear understanding of the program scheduling summary and related merge model which defines what must be taught and the rules of their delivery order.
- Learn how related software and equipment works. Be a subject matter expert for other faculty regarding the use of such software and equipment.
- Research and identify opportunities and trends within the industry.
- Program Coordinators support their faculty with expertise and opinion based on a strong practical background, designation, and real-world experience.
- Program Coordinators have an in-depth knowledge of all courses in their respective programs, including the topics, classroom requirements/setup and resources used. They are the primary person instructors go to with program related questions.
Instructor Responsibilities: -
- Ensuring that class delivery is optimized.
- Prepare lecture/lab and class materials as required.
- Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
- Instruct assigned courses in accordance with course competencies. Teach and facilitate classes.
- Effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS), to access course content.
- Ensure students can access the LMS platform and other electronic course materials.
- Respond to student questions about the LMS platform and escalate questions where there is uncertainty to the LMS Administrator.
- Prepare and grade tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Administer assessments using the LMS platform.
- Moderate and submit student grades using the LMS platform.
What you bring to the position:
- 5 years of related work experience in an early childhood education environment is required.
- Teaching experience is preferred.
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required.
- Experience with College of Early Childhood educators (CECE) program coordination will be considered a strong asset.
- A university degree in a related field (Teaching, Early Childhood Education, etc.) is required.
- Masters degree in a related field is considered an asset.
- A degree or diploma in adult education is considered an asset.
- Understanding of Adult Learning Principles is preferred.
- Student assessments, including but not limited to progress reports, participation evaluation, assignment marks and exam grades.
- Quality Assurance Framework audits and inspections.
- Attend scheduled meetings with Academic Planning Manager, Campus Directors, and lead faculty meetings.
