Property Expense Coordinator (Latin America)

Location: Remote – Independent Contractor Compensation: $6.00 USD/hour

 

Independent Contractor Notice: This is an independent contractor engagement. The selected candidate will be engaged as an ndependent contractor and not as an employee of Chapman Management Group.

 

Chapman Management Group (CMG), a Washington, DC-based boutique property management firm specializing in affordable and multifamily housing across the DC, Virginia, and Maryland region, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Latin America-based Property Expense Coordinator to support financial oversight across our property portfolio. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with a strong background in expense management, budgeting, and financial data entry who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor property-level budgets and flag variances, overspending, or anomalies for review.
  • Create, track, and manage purchase orders for vendor invoices across the portfolio.
  • Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding before submission for payment.
  • Perform data entry and maintain financial records in property management and accounting systems.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual operating budgets.
  • Reconcile expense reports and support month-end close processes.
  • Communicate with vendors, property managers, and senior leadership regarding budget status and spending.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and report on expense trends.
  • Support the creation of financial reports and summaries for ownership review.


Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of experience in expense management, accounts payable, budgeting, or a related financial role.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) — required.
  • Experience with purchase order creation and tracking.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with property management or accounting software (Entrata, Yardi, or similar) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and budget reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
