Job Title:  Community Engagement Specialist – High School Recruiter

northern Nova Scotia(NS) and occasional visits to Prince Edward Island (PEI)


Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

The Opportunity:


Community Engagement Specialist – High School Recruiter will be committed to high school recruitment and brand awareness throughout high schools and communities in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and occasionally PEI. They will also engage in community events and build relationships with community stakeholders and working groups. Their key objective would be to attract leads through face-to-face interactions. 

  • Acting as the primary point of contact to high school guidance counsellors, community stakeholders, working groups and any high school leads until they are in grad year.
  • Imputing leads into company CRM and managing database.
  • Track and report on lead generation weekly.
  • Frequent In person visits to high schools (6 – 8) and working groups a crossed Atlantic Canada. Visits will include lunch booth style recruitment and classroom presentations both in person and virtual.
  • Planning and implementation of Webinars, both during and after normal working hours.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Attend sporting tournaments, wellness expos, and community events
  • Participate in open houses, stakeholder events, employer/guidance counselor events, and Grad Help initiatives.
  • Emailing and communication with all high school counsellors and stakeholders.
  • Organizing and planning of AARAO tour recruitment fair every fall.
  • Event planning, such as open houses in each Campus, internal guidance counselor and stakeholder events and much more. Occasionally out of normal working hours.
  • Ability to think outside the box by planning events or finding opportunities where the college could be represented in such a way that we would gather leads.

What you bring to the position:


  • Must be fluent in both French and English both oral and written for Francophone district school visits.
  • Diploma or Degree in a related field with relevant experience preferred.
  • Must be comfortable utilizing social media app’s such as Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook.
  • Ability to communicate with all types of people and build rapport.
  • Good with faces and names and the ability to recognize people and build relationships.
  • Ability to travel frequently and occasionally overnight.
  • Excellent time management and high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with Guidance counsellors, politicians, internal and external stakeholders.
  • High energy and enthusiasm when dealing with prospective students.
  • Represents Eastern College in a professional manner that represents our values within the community.
  • Can-do attitude with desire to exceed targets.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License as travel will be required and a reliable vehicle.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
