Location:          Hybrid, Halifax Campus, 6940 Mumford Rd, Halifax, Nova Scotia.


Hours:             Part-time position .

In-person - Monday to Friday, 8 am to 1 pm or 3 days per week ( 8 hours per day), 3 weeks each year.

Remote -  Mondays or Tuesdays, mornings (9 am to 12 pm) or evenings (7 pm to 10 pm).

The Opportunity:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide quality delivery of assigned Pharmacy technician courses utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques, and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment. Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and grading class tests, assignments, and exams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide quality delivery of assigned courses within the Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Assistant programs.
  • Utilize a variety of instruction strategies, techniques, and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment.
  • Responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and as required, grading class tests, assignments, and exams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends to enhance the learning experience.
  • Support the vision, mission, and values of Eastern College while contributing to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness, embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

What you bring to the position:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of practical hospital pharmacy experience working as a technician.
  • Must be a Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the Province of Nova Scotia.
  • Advanced knowledge of computerized pharmacy software applications.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Professionalism combined with intermediate Microsoft Office skills, superior communication and organizational skills will be essential to success in this role.
