Global Human Resources Director

Direct Reports: HR staff

Location: Remote (U.S.) with periodic travel


Position Summary

The Global Human Resources Director leads the Company's human resources function and partners with executive leadership to support business objectives across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The Director provides strategic guidance while overseeing day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, talent management, compliance, compensation and benefits, and HR staff. The role balances sound business judgment with practical, compliant HR solutions that support the Company's culture and continued growth.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR priorities aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and supervise the HR team, providing coaching, direction, and professional development.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee performance evaluation, career development, and leadership development programs.
  • Administer and periodically review compensation, incentive, and benefits programs; manage relationships with brokers, PEO/ASO providers, and other HR vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and HR policies across all operating jurisdictions, coordinating with external counsel and local advisors as appropriate.
  • Oversee leave administration, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation coordination, and HR policy administration.
  • Direct HRIS, payroll coordination, personnel records, HR reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor key HR metrics, identify trends, and recommend practical improvements to leadership.
  • Support mergers, organizational changes, and other strategic initiatives affecting the workforce.
  • Help preserve and strengthen the Company's culture through effective communication, employee engagement, and leadership support.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master's degree and/or SHRM-SCP/SPHR preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible HR experience, including leadership responsibility.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employment matters; international HR experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of employee relations, investigations, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and employment law.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, organizational, and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to travel periodically by automobile and commercial airline.
  • Ability to move throughout office and meeting locations during training, recruiting, and employee meetings.
  • Regular, predictable attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule when business needs require.


Work Environment

  • Primarily remote office environment with periodic domestic and international travel.
  • Frequent interaction with employees and managers across multiple time zones using virtual collaboration tools.
