Truck Dispatcher

Job Overview

  • The Dispatcher will oversee all transportation logistics including scheduling, compliance, driver support, cross-border paperwork, and route planning. This is a fast-paced role requiring flexibility during peak seasons and a farming background to align with our agricultural clients and drivers. You’ll split your time between dispatch duties and operational management.

What you'll do

  • Monitor and audit all paperwork, driver logs, and truck documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate insurance records and documentation for all drivers and equipment.
  • Coordinate daily dispatch of trucks for both pellet and grain pickups and deliveries, including backhauls.
  • Schedule dynamically throughout the day with key planning between 5-7 PM
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking of all delivered loads using Excel and internal spreadsheets.
  • Ensure cross-border compliance and accurate customs paperwork preparation (PARS, PAPS, ACI).
  • Manage CVOR, US DOT, IRP plates (renewals, additions, removals), transponders, and IFTA filings.
  • Administer bridge toll cards (Bluewater, Ambassador), fuel card tracking, and toll pass logistics.
  • Coordinate new driver onboarding including drive checks, drug testing, insurance approvals.
  • Process additions/removals of trucks and trailers in insurance records.
  • Review and audit all incoming driver paperwork: circle checks, cross-border documentation.
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheets for delivered loads and backhauls.
  • Apply for state-level and oversized hauling permits as needed.
  • Assist in developing and executing new logistics processes for market expansion.
  • Collaborate on new customer launches and integrate logistics workflows.
  • Recruit, onboard, and provide safety training for AZ Drivers.
  • Build and retain strong relationships with long-term drivers, providing tech support and training.

Requirements

  • Background in farming or agricultural logistics (mandatory)
  • Experience with AZ Drivers, dispatch, and driver relations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based tracking
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to manage scheduling throughout the day
  • Knowledge of E-logs, customs paperwork, transportation compliance (CVOR, IFTA, etc.)
  • Experience in hiring, onboarding, and training drivers
  • Effective communication and leadership skills in a high-pressure environment
