iEducate embeds college students alongside teachers to provide co-teaching instructional support to Title I elementary students, addressing the need for immediate high-impact tutoring while also cultivating a pipeline of homegrown future educators through direct classroom experience.

Become an Elementary School Tutor for iEducate!

Are you studying to become a teacher or considering a career in education? iEducate gives college students the opportunity to gain meaningful, paid classroom experience while making an immediate impact on elementary students. Tutors work alongside experienced educators during the school day, supporting students through small-group instruction while developing the skills, confidence, and experience that can prepare them for a future career in education.

Students pursuing education, teaching, or related majors, as well as students seriously considering a career in education, are strongly encouraged to apply. You do not need to be an education major or have experience to be considered.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead  small-group sessions with students to re-teach skills, help address learning gaps, and/or support a small group of students during the lesson cycle in the classroom leading them to success on lesson objectives
• Develop your instructional delivery by reviewing and internalizing lesson materials in advance,  preparing to teach the content in a clear, engaging, and effective way
• Learn alongside experienced educators by building collaborative relationships with teachers, instructional leaders, and school staff.  When schedules allow, tutors may participate in planning periods, PLCs, grade-level meetings, and other opportunities with their partner teacher or coordinator to better understand the work of a professional educator
• Build positive, appropriate relationships with students that foster engagement, and investment in their learning
• Submit all required tutor surveys & documentation
• Other duties and responsibilities as requested

Who we’re looking for:

iEducate is especially interested in college students who are pursuing or exploring a career in teaching and want meaningful experience working directly with students and professional educators. Strong candidates may include:

• College students on a track to become a teacher
• Students interested in becoming teachers but who have not yet entered a formal educator-preparation program
• Students in related fields who have a strong interest in teaching, mentoring, or working with children
• Students who are eager to learn from experienced educators, receive feedback, and develop their instructional skills

To qualify, you must:

• Be authorized and eligible to work in the US
• Be a currently enrolled college student with a 2.5+ GPA
• Have reliable transportation
• Have availability to work  2-4 days per week  (7 hours per day) during the school day.
• While performing the duties of this job, the Tutor may regularly be required to stand and reach with hands and arms, walk, sit stoop or kneel crouch or crawl. Duties may involve attending to students' physical or sanitation/hygiene needs

As an iEducate tutor, you will receive:

• $18/hour pay, including paid training and professional development
• Hands-on classroom experience working directly with K-5 students and experienced educators

Please note that, if hired, school placement in any given semester for a tutor is not guaranteed. School placement is dependent on a tutors availability & placement preferences matching the needs of an existing partner elementary school.
