Position Summary:

Revolution Space is seeking a hands-on Configuration Manager to establish, execute, and continuously improve Configuration Management (CM) processes across the organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining configuration integrity across hardware, software, technical data, and product lifecycle records while supporting engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and leadership teams.

This role requires an individual who is comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels, someone capable of developing processes, improving workflows, administering PLM systems, facilitating engineering change processes, and personally executing detailed CM activities when required.

The Configuration Manager will serve as the primary owner of the company's Configuration Management processes and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment, ensuring accurate product baselines, disciplined change control, traceability, and audit-ready records throughout the product lifecycle.

The Configuration Manager owns the Configuration Management process, PLM environment, and change control workflow integrity. Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program teams remain responsible for the technical content, implementation, and execution of their respective deliverables.

Direct Arena PLM administration and workflow experience is highly desired.

The position is full-time, remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and continuously improve Arena Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) workflows and associated processes

  • Establish, maintain, and audit product baselines.
  • Maintain Configuration Status Accounting (CSA)
  • Develop, improve, and maintain Configuration Management procedures and work instructions.
  • Train and support users on Configuration Management processes and Arena workflows
  • Monitor Configuration Management process health and proactively identify gaps, bottlenecks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assess the effectiveness of existing Configuration Management and PLM workflows and provide recommendations for process, workflow, and system improvements aligned with company growth objectives
  • Evaluate whether operational challenges are process-driven, tool-driven, or organizationally driven and recommend practical solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Configuration Management experience in aerospace, defense, space, or other complex hardware environments
  • Experience administering or serving as a power user of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
  • Experience administering, coordinating, or overseeing Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes and participating in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
  • Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), revision control, and product traceability
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and leadership teams in a production environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build, improve, and sustain Configuration Management processes while also performing detailed day-to-day CM activities when required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive actions to closure
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in both strategic and hands-on execution roles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct Arena PLM administration experience
  • Arena workflow configuration and lifecycle management experience
  • Aerospace or spaceflight hardware experience
  • Experience implementing or improving Configuration Management processes from the ground up
  • Experience supporting Design Reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Product Deliveries

  • AS9100 experience
  • Startup or high-growth company experience
