We are seeking a motivated entry-level Electrical Technician to join our Electrical Department. You’ll work in the fast-growing data center and bitcoin industry, supporting the acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems. Under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers, you’ll focus on safety, accurate data collection, and timely reporting. Launch your electrical career with a company that invests heavily in your growth and receives extensive, company-paid training all the way to NICET Level III certification. This is a fully on-site role based out of our Kentucky Facility.

Essential Functions

  • Perform testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment following industry standards (NETA, NFPA, OSHA, NEC, IEEE) and company procedures.
  • Set up and operate electrical test equipment, ensuring all tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Conduct and document testing for:
    • Switchgear and circuit breakers (timing, contact resistance, insulation, primary injection)
    • Protection and control systems (relay testing, CT/PT testing, functional checks)
    • Transformers (turns ratio, winding resistance, insulation testing, oil analysis when needed)
    • Cables and grounding systems (insulation testing, phasing, ground resistance testing)
    • Facility systems such as UPS, batteries, generators, and diagnostic scans (thermography, ultrasound, partial discharge)
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams to plan testing and identify system configurations.
  • Follow all safety procedures including pre-job planning, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and proper permitting.
  • Inspect equipment, identify issues, perform minor repairs, and escalate more complex problems as needed.
  • Support commissioning activities including factory/site acceptance testing, system checks, and energization.
  • Accurately record test results and complete reports using industry software and internal processes.
  • Coordinate with teams, contractors, and customers to schedule work and provide updates.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·       Willingness to pursue NICET Electrical Power Testing certification (Level I/II) and complete company training.

·       Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, LOTO, and safe grounding practices; able to pass safety trainings.

·       Ability to read onelines/schematics and follow written test procedures, strong documentation skills.

·       Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn

·       Basic electrical knowledge

·       Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented

 

Education & Experience

·       High school diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school or A.S. in Electrical Technology preferred.

·       0–2 years in electrical testing/maintenance or related field; foundational understanding of AC/DC theory and power systems.

·       Preferred: OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR; experience with Omicron/Doble/Megger/ETI test sets; CMMS (Maximo/SAP); datacenter, substation, or industrial plant experience.

·       Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; ability to learn Power DB/RTS/AVTS or similar.


Requirements

·       Must have and maintain Valid driver’s license; able to meet customer site access/badging requirements.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

·       Field work in substations, plants, and datacenter environments; indoor/outdoor exposure, weather, and noise.

·       Frequent standing/walking/bending and ladder/step access; lift/carry up to 50 lb.

·       Use of arcrated PPE and protective equipment per NFPA 70E.

·       Willingness to work any assigned shift (usually 4 on and 4 off), required overtime, night/weekend outage work, and on call rotation as scheduled.

·       Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and occasional fumes or airborne particles: noise levels range from moderate to loud.
