Spectrum Eye Physicians is an independent, physician-owned ophthalmology and optometry practice that has served the Bay Area and Monterey Bay communities for more than 50 years. Our team includes 9 ophthalmologists and 7 optometrists across eight locations, providing an established patient and referral base and a collaborative MD/OD environment.

Spectrum Eye Physicians is seeking a part-time Optometrist with advanced training or experience in corneal disease and specialty contact lenses to join our established multispecialty practice.

This position combines comprehensive medical optometry with the opportunity to help expand Spectrum's specialty contact lens services. The ideal candidate enjoys managing a broad range of patients while having a particular interest in complex corneal conditions and specialty lens fitting.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Routine vision and comprehensive medical eye examinations
• Diabetic eye examinations
• Cataract evaluations and co-management
• Diagnosis and management of ocular disease
• Corneal, anterior segment, dry eye, and ocular surface disease
• Specialty contact lens fitting, including scleral and RGP lenses
• Management of irregular corneas and medically necessary contact lenses
• Diagnostic testing and interpretation
• Collaborative patient care with Spectrum's ophthalmologists

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution
• Active California optometry license or eligibility for licensure
• Residency training in cornea/contact lenses, ocular disease, or a related specialty preferred
• Advanced specialty contact lens experience may be considered in lieu of residency training
• Experience with scleral and RGP lenses strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Comfortable managing comprehensive medical optometry and ocular disease in a collaborative MD/OD setting

Position Details

• Part-time – approximately 3 days per week
• Rotating Saturday schedule (usually 1 Saturday per month)
• $80–$85 per hour, based on experience, specialty training, and qualifications
