Schedule
- 5x8s, Monday-Thursday and Saturday - 8am-5pm
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and assist veterinarians during examinations
- Provide routine patient care, administer vaccines, and safely restrain patients for exams and treatments
- Collect laboratory samples, perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories
- Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of patient care
- Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and treatment areas to support daily hospital operations
- Support a variable caseload depending on seasonal demand while maintaining efficient workflow
- Assist with scheduling, client check-in/check-out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned
About You
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred, with moderate hands-on experience strongly valued.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect warmly with clients and confidently de-escalate challenging situations.
- Dependable, proactive, and able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a busy, hands-on hospital setting.
- Eager to learn, develop new skills, and take advantage of training and continuing education opportunities.
