Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large, complex civil construction projects (focus on open-cut works)
- Plan, oversee, and manage all project phases to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and subcontractor performance; resolve issues and delays
- Provide leadership to project teams, including mentoring, resource allocation, and performance management
- Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, revenue projections, and profitability
- Review contracts, bids, change orders, and approve variations, claims, and payments
- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations through audits and site oversight
- Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, best practices, and technology adoption
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in open-cut civil construction methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of commercial and contract management practices
- Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects in active environments
- High level of risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making capability
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
Education & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil construction, including open-cut works
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale or complex infrastructure projects
- Solid understanding of contract types (e.g., lump sum, design & construct, schedule of rates)
- Experience with construction scheduling, cost control, and reporting
