AACA is a Nonpublic School (NPS) serving students ages 5 to 22 with severe behavioral and developmental needs. Our mission is to provide individualized instruction and therapeutic support to help each student reach their fullest potential in a structured, compassionate environment.


Position Summary


The Physical Therapist provides evaluation, treatment, and consultation services to students with significant behavioral and physical challenges. The PT will develop and implement individualized therapy programs that support students’ mobility, motor skills, sensory regulation, and access to their educational environments. The weekly hours for this position can range anywhere from 20-25 hours per week, and the working hours are from 8:30AM-3:30PM.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical therapy assessments and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student’s goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavior specialists, occupational therapists, and other team members to integrate therapy into classroom routines.
  • Provide consultation and training to staff on physical management, mobility supports, adaptive equipment, and positioning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy services, progress, and compliance with IEP and state/federal requirements.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students with behavioral and physical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of CA.
  • Experience working with students with severe behavioral and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of sensory processing, adaptive equipment, and behavior-supportive therapy approaches.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and team-oriented mindset.

The pay range for this role is:

85 - 90 USD per hour (AACA Chatsworth)
