Book Promotions Coordinator (Long Term Contract)

Position Overview


Rethink Books, an imprint of Advantage | The Authority Company, partners with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals to position their books as strategic tools for authority building, brand growth, and thought leadership.


Rethink Books is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Book Promotions Coordinator (Contractor) to support the coordination and execution of promotional campaigns for nonfiction business book launches. Working closely with the internal Book Promotions team, Authority Brand Building team, authors, and external vendors, this individual will help execute high-quality campaigns designed to increase discoverability, drive retail sales, support successful launches, and strengthen author authority.


This role is heavily focused on campaign coordination, organization, execution, and author communication. Responsibilities may include coordinating Amazon optimization initiatives, Amazon A+ Content, bestseller campaigns, Goodreads promotions, press releases, social media assets, and promotional design materials such as bookmarks, banners, and business cards.


Contractors are typically assigned a portfolio of approximately 25 active authors at a time, though campaign volume, timelines, and workload may vary based on launch schedules and selected promotional services. Successful candidates are highly organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.


This is a long-term contract opportunity offering flexible scheduling; however, candidates must maintain availability during standard business hours to support collaboration, author communication, team meetings, and time-sensitive deliverables.


Expected Outcomes

  • Coordinate and execute book promotion campaigns for multiple authors simultaneously across platforms including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and social media.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for authors regarding campaign timelines, deliverables, updates, and promotional opportunities.
  • Manage campaign logistics including bestseller campaigns, Amazon optimization, Goodreads promotions, A+ Content, press release coordination, and promotional asset development.
  • Coordinate deliverables with internal teams, including design and Authority Brand Building, as well as external vendors.
  • Track campaign progress, maintain organized documentation, and ensure all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Provide weekly campaign updates, performance reporting, and marketplace education to authors, including recommendations based on campaign goals, trends, and budget.
  • Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with authors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Professional Communication: Represent the Rethink Books brand with professionalism in all author, vendor, and internal interactions.
  • Organization: Maintain clear, organized campaign documentation, timelines, and status updates within project management systems.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Identify potential issues early, communicate proactively, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Results-Oriented Execution: Support successful book launches through coordinated promotional initiatives designed to drive visibility, reviews, authority, and retail sales.
  • Author Experience Focus: Deliver a high-quality author experience through reliable execution, clear communication, and strong coordination.


Skills and Experience


Required:


  • 2+ years of experience in publishing, marketing, digital advertising, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with authors, executives, and business leaders.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with remote and distributed teams.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Amazon book marketing tools, bestseller campaign strategies, and book launch best practices.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends and promotional best practices.
  • Working knowledge of project management platforms such as Monday.com.
  • Passion for books, publishing, and helping authors connect with readers.


Compensation and Estimated Commitment 

Compensation is approximately $30 - $40/hour, commensurate with experience. Monthly workload will vary depending on campaign volume and the number of assigned authors.


Estimated monthly responsibilities include:

  • Campaign setup and execution: approximately 20–30 hours
  • Campaign tracking and reporting: approximately 20–30 hours
  • Author communication and coordination: approximately 20–30 hours
  • Internal collaboration and vendor coordination: approximately 20–30 hours


Total estimated commitment is approximately 80–120 hours per month, depending on workload and campaign activity. Must be available for customer calls during standard EST business hours.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Contractors are expected to:

  • Maintain a professional remote work environment, including reliable internet access and appropriate computer equipment.
  • Remain available during standard EST business hours to support collaboration, communication, and time-sensitive deliverables.
  • Participate in scheduled virtual meetings and maintain proactive communication regarding timelines, updates, and potential roadblocks.
  • Independently manage assigned responsibilities while consistently meeting deadlines and quality standards.

The pay range for this role is:
